Tonight, I made stew (I cook good omlettes and stews....), a salad, was daring and opened a can o' corn, and broke my diet and bought a Dr. Pepper Super Big Gulp! LOL! Loved your post Heather! Evian np in my head: Dog shit in the yard...... lol, loved that one Marilyn! ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 08 Feb 1999 01:48:29 -0600 From: evian Subject: DJRD > It is interesting that I've seen no discussion of my favorite JM album > and one of the best of all times albums found in rock, 'Don Juan's > Reckless Daughter'. It was so ahead of its time when it came out that > the critics trashed it, but then 10 years later they hailed it as rocks > greatest album. >> > I didn't really learn to appreciate DJRD until this year. Now I love it!!! My fave tracks are the title track of course, which has become almost a mantra for me, "Off night backstreet", which should have been a huge FM radio staple, "Dreamland", and "Paprika Plains". The more I listen, the more I love that album!!!! Isn't it funny how our favorites change, and change again, regarding Joni's music? Last year, I was in a HOSL cycle, and I swear I wore it out from playing it so much, and this year, I am in a Hejira and DJRD mood. BLUE and C&S are probably my all-time faves because they are what I first discovered 10 yrs ago, but all of her work is just so... what is the word I am looking for... riveting... that I seem to go through cycles of obsessing over a certain album. The only albums that I have yet to really grab me are WTRF and STAS, but who knows, maybe I will come around to them too! Evian np: Florence Henderson selling some miracle pots and pans on an infomercial... damn she is making me hungry... and she cooked all that food in SEVEN MINUTES!! BUY NOW!! lol.. I gotta be tired... ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V4 #66 ************************* There is now a JMDL tape trading list.
