People can have brilliant ideas but if they don't do anything with them
the ideas are useless. It's the person who takes the idea and runs with
it that makes it pay off. And you did just that. Take all the Glory,
girl! You deserve it!

OK new thread... make an on going story out of nothing but Joni lyrics.
I'll start and feel free to add to the story...
It was a dark and a stormy night. I pulled up behind a Cadillac; we were
waiting for the light. Sharon, I left my man at a North Dakota junction
and I came up to the Big Apple here to face the dream's malfunction. See
that patch of city lights? Somewhere in there is Cotton avenue, that's
where I'm gonna take myself tonight with the spit shine on my dancing
shoes...TO BE CONTINUED...

Thanks...
actually, no. more soap-operatic, yes.
i really loved joyce carol oates' 'genre' trilogy, 'bellefleur', 'a
bloodsmoor romance' and 'mysteries of winterthur'. parodies; commentaries
on three different 19th century american novel styles, extremely
overwrought, with acres of vaporous prose, plots that drift in and out of
sight in a glutinous fog...
just thinking about it ruins my writing. back to reading carver, i guess.

lyrics containing the letter X I'm sure. I've been looking for two W's all

Subject: HDCDs, Blue
I have seen the first four with HDCD stickers but haven't bought them yet.
I noticed something though: STAS, Clouds, and Ladies all had subtle
differences in packaging to the old CDs, including the "Joe Gastwirt"
mention on the back on the bottom.... Blue did not have this, but the
packaging was identical to the old ones. I've seen this in many stores
both in Ann Arbor and throughout Atlanta. (Only two places I've been
since....) So, for those of you who have a bonafide HDCD Blue, how's the
packaging?
Another thing about these... I got the HDCD For The Roses and found the
sound amazingly better... however, I compared the tracks from the first
four on "Hits" to my old CDs, and, am I the only one who finds the new
masters a bit shrill? And I say this as someone who actually has replaced
many cds with new 20-bit remasters in teh past two years, I love the sound
of the new Columbia stuff (Dylan, Byrds, Miles) but I'm not so sure about
the HDCDs I've gotten (Buffalo Springfield and Joni so far) There's
something brittle to my ears about them, like they needed to lop off a tad
of the high end.

51 of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence were
Freemasons -- a fraternity of Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Druidic, and Deist
mystics whom embrace the best of all religions and incited the Inquisition,
charged with the crimes of sodomy and blasphemy, and persecuted for
centuries. It is still illegal for a Mason to hold public office in England.
America's founders saw the USA as a new Jerusalem, just a few votes away
from making Hebrew it's national language. I am not making this up! Of
course you will not read this in high school history books.
This is why America was the only United Nation to vote for the
recreation of the State of Israel back in 1947 and why America adopted
circumcision during WWII. That is when "In God We Trust" was added to our
money. And also why the Ten Commandments hang in every court of the land.
I strongly support the separation of church & state, Clark. But I can't
overlook the major factor religion has played in our nation's inception.
What I find troubling is how Freemasons have become the bad guys to both
left-wing & right-wing fundamentalists. Blame it on the dreaded Illuminati
or, better yet, the liberal Jewish media....
But has anyone really contemplated Jimmy Carter's Native American
Freedom of Religion Act? God bless you, Jimmy, for finally granting
America's original inhabitants freedom of religion. Or should I say, freedom
FROM religion?
Howling,
