The thread is probably long gone but my AOL account launched a forgotten post
on the subject of problems with CD players when I ran a flash session earlier
today. I hope it makes some sense to somebody.....

Didn't see the original post, but I know of at one item which should be
included in this list.
I have a from-the-radio cassette recording of Joni playing in London circa
1983/84, from the "in Concert" program. I'll provide a track listing if
anyone is interested. Thinking of it, I must listen to it
again............which I haven't done for a long time.
Does she have any plans to play in the UK ever again?

Sydney Harbour Bridge? (I've heard it plays a mean Blackjack)

I usually don't have a brain, but just recently I realized I got into Joni
at the beginning of my Freshman year (Which was 4 years ago). My sister
stole (borrowed, rouged if you've visited the Gallery a lot) Court and
Spark from work and it took me about 3 weeks to like it. It took many
listens so I can't pinpoint exactly which first Joni song I heard.
I could have sworn I heard In France They Kiss On Main Street when I was 5.
But I'm frequently delirious.
ANYWAY, I was really intrigued by Just Like This Train so I guess this was
my first.
Mark, always amazed by certain things that are uncannily in-tune with me

Oh, my sentiments exactly. Hurray, someone else doesn't see what's so good
about this annoying, fairly contrived in my opinion, person. yay!

THRILLING, EXCITING, like climbing the first hill of the Joni high profile
roller coaster
Is everyone seeing Joni flashing her fabulous self in the vignette breaks of
the MTV video awards? It's just making say out loud "There really is a God!"
Talk about high profile. Reprise positioning..... most definately.

For those (like me) who weren't watching the MTV Video Music Awards (tonight
8pm-11pm ET) and who missed the Joni vignette breaks Duane is talking about.....
GOOD NEWS!!!
You may be able to see it after all, it's being repeated tonight from 11:30pm
to 2:30am ET. Based on the time of Duane's post, looks like they happen
between 1:30 to 2hrs into the show.

I heard Joni on 'BOS this morning - about 7:00 a.m. The morning DJ said
some very nice things about Joni - her great performance at Woodstock,
etc. . The song was Crazy Cries of Love? Or something like that? I
know the song, I'm not sure about the title . .

Does anyone out there know (nudge, nudge Wally) if the promo for
"Crazy Cries" has been shipped to radio? For a 9/29 album release
date, it should have been in programmers hands for a while now.
On a related note, will there be a commercial release of the single?
Any b-sides?

Hi list,
I have a cheap used copy of MoA on hold in a used records shop, but I
want to find out if it's the regular CD or the new HDCD version. So far
they've told me this about it:
Asylum 202-2, UPC (bar code) 0 7559-60539-2
Based on that, can someone tell me which it is? They didn't say if
there is the HDCD logo anywhere, but I know that on "Court & Spark" HDCD
there is no logo(?) If that's not enough information, what do I need to
ask from them?
And, could you also CC to my address, because I'm on digest and I need
to know by Saturday morning. It's Friday morning here already...
thank you,

Hi all,
Thought you might be interested to know that we down under (Melbourne,
Australia) have also been fortunate enough to get some sneek previews of TTT
on a local radio station. 3RRR is a community funded station here in
Melbourne and a local Joni fan (Gerald McNamara - I believe he's on this
list) provided them with a copy of the album. Where he got it from they're
not saying and probably don't want to know! It's certainly not a promo copy
from the record company. Anyway, I share the sentiment of many others who
have written about this in that I would prefer not to hear too much of the
album before I get the real thing. I've heard a couple of fantastic
appetisers though and along with you guys am eagerly anticipating the
album's release.
Cheers,

Subject: Eastwood, MTV
Hi everyone,
In stores next Tuesday (the 15th) is "From There To Here," the debut
CD from bass player Kyle Eastwood, son of actor-director Clint Eastwood.
Larry Klein produced the album, with guest vocalists Julia Fordham, Diana
King, and Joni Mitchell turning in a performance on one song each. Joni
does a soulful version of Marvin Gaye's "Trouble Man," which is similar
to the live version she did at the TV taping in Burbank or at "A Day in
the Garden," but with a few inflections and lines which are different.
For example, on record Joni says: "I ain't gonna let it sweat me none"
instead of "I ain't gonna let it get to me." It's very cool!
In the album thank you's, Eastwood says: "To Joni, for 'that
voice'!" Look for the album come Tuesday...you can view the album cover
at this URL:
http://www.JoniMitchell.com/upcoming2.html
Just now during the MTV Video Music Awards program, there was a
short filmed segment with Joni talking about Janet jackson's version of
"Big yellow Taxi" and how much she liked it. Shot in black and white and
obviously very recently, Joni looked and sounded great!
Later,
Wally

A ha, where are an ever expanding bunch! I'm here in Melbourne too.
Although I haven't heard any Joni on RRR, I was fortunate enough to have
heard a small sample/promo on 3LO (don't laugh) last night... the
'reviewer' gave a short spiel about Joni and how HE saw her a few years
ago etc... and then they played "Man from Mars". I am very thankful it
was a song i had already heard, because I too don't want too many suprises
spoilt before the twenty EIGHTH!!!
I also contacted JJJ on a few occasions and requested on their website
various Joni on various programs: general request, and the J Files...(if
they did a J files it would mean a 3hr special on Joni, for those of you
not in Australia).
I also suggested they add Wally's site to their BEST WEB SITES
section....hmm we'll see.
Anyway, nice to hear there aren't only one or two of us here in Australia
or even Melbourne to be more SPecific.
bye then....hey seeing as we here are a day ahead anyway, does that mean
we will get TTT TWO days before the rest!?
oooooh
