Kate Bush, Never For Ever- refered to by my bestest kate friend sean, haven't listened yet. actually all they had in the bin at Virgin records was "The Red Shoes", "Never For Ever", and "The Dreaming". i opted for this one. Cocteau Twins, Blue Bell Knoll- also refered to by sean. i've been wanting to listen to them for a while. lots of people say they're right up my alley (but as colin would say, how do they know what i like up my alley?) Nirvana, In Utero- my nirvana cd collection stops here promise. i mean i love nirvana and kurt was a semi-genius but there's so much else i want and i don't really want any other nirvana cds so there you go The Breeders, Last Splash- Griffin (boohoo, that was a good time in our now defunct friendship) played me two songs that i liked off this album. so i bought it. i like the vocals. "distant" like griffin said. but now we're all gonna shut up about him because he's history and mariana's happy now enough said. If anyone's got something to say about the stuff I got, please do. I love feedback. I love discussing good music, that's why I'm on the list after all. mariana NP: Elliott Smith, XO (get it get it!) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 Aug 1998 02:29:44 EDT From: LRFye@aol.com Subject: Re: BethelLand Next To WallyWorld Michael P. wrote: > What frightens me is that we will probably pay to see as well. I've always thought of mojo as something akin to synchronicity, but for the sake of discussion, here's a definition from AOL's version of Webster's: mo*jo (noun), plural mojoes or mojos [probably of African origin; akin to Fulani moco'o medicine man] First appeared 1926 : a magic spell, hex, or charm; broadly : magical power Lori in SATX ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 Aug 1998 02:50:17 EDT From: Bolvangar@aol.com Subject: Re: about tuning systems (NJC) Patrick wrote: <<'the application of just intonation to the piano was the brilliant inspiration of my long-time friend and mentor lamonte young, whose masterpiece, 'the well-tuned piano' forever changed the way many of us hear the instrument.' still can't figure which is synonym and which is antonym.>> "Well-tuned" may have nothing to do with "well-tempered." I had assumed that Young's title just refers to a piano which someone did a really good job of tuning. "Well-tuned," if used in a non-technical sense, could apply to any tuning system. - --David ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V3 #321 ************************** Post messages to the list at Unsubscribe by sending "unsubscribe joni-digest" to ------- Siquomb, isn't she?
