Last night, my son and I are in traffic coming home from the Greenville Braves game. "Blue" is one of the CD's in rotation in the car, and 'A Case Of You' starts playing. Nate's listening to the tune, and when she sings about drawing a map of Canada on the back of a napkin, Nate, who has not professed as yet to being much of a JM fan, says "I have a newfound respect for Joni Mitchell - singer, songwriter, CARTOGRAPHER!" I was rolling... Enjoy the weekend! I'm very embarrassed to say I don't remember, and I was 24! I think the reason is I was totally self-absorbed in my first pregnancy, Chelsea was born that December. I was talking to a friend about the political hulabalu in today's news and we compared it to Nixon's crimes. Looking back, I doubt if Nixon's minions did anything that hadn't been done many times before and since. With all the corruption and the scrutiny that politicians have now-a-days it's surprising that anyone decides to go into politics. Makes you wonder about the motives of anyone who does, huh? Bet I just opened up another huge political debate..Oh well, things have been calm for a couple of days.. time to spice it up again. Has anyone used that infoseek realplayer for a real time concert or event? Speak up! Hearing about everyone's vacations is fun! Be sure and give a report when you get back. I have 2 weeks off of school but will be helping my daughter and fiance move to their new home. They've lived with me for 5 months and now I'll be alone with my 2 cats again..Thankfully, this time she's only moving 1/2 an hour away. Kennedy was a dick who escalated the war in Vietnam, so was Johnson and so was Nixon. Kennedy got shot he's a martyr, Nixon resigned he's not. Clinton has reaped the benefits of a strong economy that either he was responsible or Bush or God forsaken even Reagan. I have met what I thought were the most human of politicians only to see them open their mouths. And things continue to be worse then they were 30, 50 or 100 years ago. Were more racist & less tolerant. There is more clustering communities then there were 20 years ago and racism has changed from being black/white to Indians, Koreans, etc. End the end only chaos. There is a short blurb on her accompanied with one beautiful recent colour photo and a small black and white pic. I don't know if anyone's posted on this yet, as I've been quite busy and have ten days' woth of posts to catch up on, but I just got home from making this discovery and had to let you all know before I got back to being busy again.... Also, since Karen Mc hasn't posted this yet, I want to let the list know that on Karen's and my last meeting a couple of weeks ago, we had just come out of a coffee shop after talking nothing but Joni this and Joni that and decided to go into a nearby new-agey kind of shop to browse, and as soon as we walked in, the owner of the shop coincidentally popped Hits into the CD player, and we were greeted by "Urge for Going"...hey, that song sounds familiar.... Also, to go along with the Joni-songs-in-a-grocery-store thread which comes and goes (marked by lovers and styles of clothes), I went into the supermarket after work a couple of days ago to pick up some necessities, and as soon as I walked in, "Edith and the Kingpin" came on...and it was the real thing, too...no muzak. Ah, sweet Joni. Only your voice can make grocery shopping bearable. The shelf-stocking boys gave me strange looks when I started to sing along....not that it stopped me. ;) Laura the Womb Queen ______________________________________ "Wombstock" We are crowded/There's no room/ We've got to get ourselves/Back to the womb..... ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V3 #296 ************************** Post messages to the list at Unsubscribe by sending "unsubscribe joni-digest" to ------- Siquomb, isn't she?
