I heard an interview on NPR with ES's two friends who finished his album....It was about a week ago, although I'm sure you can probably find it archived on their website. Anyways, they talked about how the first question people ask them is what tracks they added to the songs. I think they said Elliot played most, if not all of the instruments, and they would never have thought of adding anything. All of the decisions they did make were difficult because they had this enormous pressure under the circumstances. Can you imagine? I was never really into ES, but the clips I heard in the radio piece were real warm sounding and as a drummer I always appreciate a nice warm kick drum in the mix. I also enjoyed the story of Elliot's appreciation of a "kick only" drum solo in some song (maybe one of his? My memory's not so good and it being Monday morning never helps...) Is Mary Lou Lord playing in Essex County any time soon???? ------------------------------ End of jinglejangle-digest V7 #129 **********************************
