If anyone can think of a more unappealing prospect than this alleged 'Star Prize' (Includes one complimentary drink each! Ooh, sure you can afford it?) I would love to hear it. (Also, if anyone can think of someone you'd less want at your wedding.) Despite all evident appearances to the contrary, this is a genuine first prize in a competition (since you won't believe me, see for yourself at http://kittyradio.com/cl/news). The whole business begs so many questions I won't even bother to start. Aidan - --- We are giving you and your love the opportunity to win a marriage ceremony performed by Courtney Love! Courtney will perform a wedding ceremony in Lake Tahoe for a group of lucky winners as part of the following Grand Prize: Wedding Ceremony, performed by Courtney, followed by champagne toast Bachelor Party at Caesar's Nero nightclub with one complimentary drink for Bachelors Bachelorette Party at Harrah's High Altitude Club with one complimentary drink for Bachelorettes Roundtrip airfare for two to Reno Roundtrip ground transport 2 nights hotel in Lake Tahoe between airport in Reno and hotel in Lake Tahoe Nevada marriage license ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 18 Mar 2004 15:52:10 -0500 From: Recordings@aol.com Subject: [MLL] Where's The 'Verb? I may be wrong about this, but I don't think so: Mary Lou's vocals on Baby Blue have absolutely NO REVERB (or very, very little.) For a release by a popular artist, this is unheard-of. Most singers would rather kill themselves than be deprived of that "singin' in the shower" ambience (and a lot of them demand it in their headphones WHILE singing.) Mary Lou has never liked reverb on her voice. The day we met, she played me a rough mix of Martian Saints and complained about "too much reverb" (I could hardly hear it.) Whenever you see her live, she asks the sound tech to turn the reverb off. But to release a whole CD by someone known as a SINGER without 'verb - that's, like, ballsy... and that's what makes it feel so intimate.
