I went to Mary Lou's show in San Francisco last night, and despite a plethora of technical snafus and the fact that the venue was full of loud/rude people, She was great. AND... she played a song that I had never heard her do before! "Straight to Hell"! Yow! My favorite Clash song, done by my favorite singer? Who could ask for more? Well, me, apparently, cuz what I was hoping for was that someone out there has a bootleg recording of Mary Lou doing Straight to Hell, that I could beg, borrow or steal? Here's hoping. - Luke ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 13 Mar 2004 22:07:53 -0500 From: Recordings@aol.com Subject: [MLL] Straight to Spaceland I'm on my way to Spaceland! Doors open at 9:00 and it's only 7:00, but I'm too excited to sit around. Also (I'm sure ML won't see this in the next two hours) I have a gift basket for Mary Lou filled with ground espresso, a cappucino machine, a carton of Camel lights, and lighters. I hate having to haul it over there myself but the delivery places don't go that late. In Santa Monica I used to get her lattes and cigarettes so this kind of carries on that tradition. I've been playing the Gingersol album and I like it a lot. Also, on the way over I heard Gillian Welch, always a good sign.
