I had never seen or even heard Gingersol before. They were really great and so is their new CD Eastern. Gingersol opened the show, and then Mary Lou did a 5 song acoustic set. The Elliot Smith ish "Farming It Out" from the new record, a couple old songs, and a couple covers. Mary Lou seemed really happy to be performing the new material but also very humble about the new record. She looked great sporting her new doo!! After the acoustic set she played the electric guitar while the kick-ass boys from Gingersol backed her up. She was really excited to rock!! And she did it with excellence and poise. I don't know what it is, but her soft cooing melodic voice mixed with rockin guitar gives me tingles all over my body. With Gingersol she did mostly songs off her new record and some from Got No Shadow. That set was about a half an hour long. Mary Lou then surprised us by finishing off the night with another 7 song acoustic set. She ended the show with "My Own Worst Enemy" which she dedicated to Pink. The entire show was a beautiful experience, and when I think back on it I smile inside. You need to see Mary Lou live to really experience her true essence, she totally makes the room light up. She had "Baby Blue" for sale at the show. I of course bought a copy and havn't been able to stop listening to it. It is very different from Got No Shadow, but still Mary Lou at her best if not better. I love it, and you should all get a copy! My friend Jamie and I hung out with Mary Lou for a bit after her set. I had a really great time and I hope all of you have an equally great time when you go to see her at the upcoming shows!! Cheers, Thomas ~Moonlover~ You can have my reflection Play with it with your toes Put me in a glass of water And put the lid on it closed But then I'll grow smaller and smaller And eventually deteriorate But if you blow away these clouds I'll shine on you forever Never go away Love is only angels in your head So let go now You can kiss me all over But not understand the meaning Or you could possess my soul But not understand the hurting But then I'll grow smaller and smaller And eventually deteriorate But if you blow away these clouds I'll shine on you forever Never go away Love is only angels in your head So let go now ~Pooka~ Get better spam protection with Yahoo!
