Fascinating. I am not comparing myself to Kurt (God no!) but it's eerie: he used the exact same kind of red "Mead" notebooks that I did for my journals, and he only prints, which I also do. Like him, I used these notebooks for diaries, drawings, song lyrics, letters, and worldly plans. With the computer age (and old age), new notebooks are mostly extinct, but I sure miss doing them. Kurt comes off incredibly intelligent and self-aware, and for someone who couldn't live with fame, he sure made an intense effort to BECOME famous (though actually putting out a full-length album may have been as far ahead as he dared imagine.) I would love to see him now in an age when literally ANYONE can make a CD. "fearless", the pink floyd track on the other hand is probably the weirdest thing she has ever recorded, but it's pretty good. about 1/3 of the album has a strong country and almost bluegrass influence, and i'm wondering if that side would've come out more if it wouldn't have been nick writing and producing?! all in all a fine album, although probably not one that will find her tons of new fans. more later! carsten - -- http://carstenwohlfeld.com http://carstenwohlfeld.de "i leave you all of my carparts. i didn't have the money or i would have gotten roses" ~ the long winters ------------------------------ End of jinglejangle-digest V6 #64 *********************************
