This event promises a rare opportunity to see these renowned performers interact and harmonize with each other. The intimacy and spontaneity of an acoustic evening with all four artists sharing the stage simultaneously will showcase the talents that have earned them each devout followings among critics and fans alike. Since her 1987 debut, Hometown Girl, Mary Chapin Carpenter has recorded seven studio albums and has sold in excess of 12 million copies. Her reflective and street-smart style has helped her to earn five Grammy awards, two Female Vocalist of the Year CMA awards and two Female Vocalist of the Year ACM awards among other recognitions of her talent including many number one hit singles. She is currently working on a new record slated for release in 2004. Her 1989 debut album Steady On won Shawn Colvin her first Grammy. Since then, she has earned two more (Record and Song of the Year for Sunny Came Home in 1996) and three additional nominations. Well respected among her peers, Shawn has collaborated on projects with James Taylor, Bruce Hornsby, Lyle Lovett, Sting, Tony Bennett and many others. Having contributed tracks to many feature motion pictures and having scored two independent films, Shawn has also appeared on film (MGM's "Heartbreakers") and on TV (The Simpsons, Larry Sanders, The Chris Isaak Show, Suddenly Susan). Over the past seven years Patty Griffin's unique emotionally charged voice recently described by Rolling Stone as "an amazing instrument" has created an ever-increasing circle of fans. After her sparse and acoustic 1996 debut, Living With Ghosts, artists began cutting Patty's songs immediately including Bette Midler, the Dixie Chicks, Martina McBride and Emmylou Harris. In 1997 she released her rocking follow up, Flaming Red, earning her the reputation for exploring varied genres of music successfully and artistically. In 2001 Patty offered an eclectic mix of stripped down recordings by releasing the Grammy-nominated 1000 Kisses. From 1995's The Honesty Room, Dar Williams has released five progressively sophisticated albums that have helped create a growing audience - live and on record - captivated by her distinctive voice, engaging personality and keen wit. 2003's well-received Razor & Tie release The Beauty of Rain features supporters Alison Krauss, Bila Fleck, John Popper, Stefan Lessard (Dave Matthews B and), among others. Raves from the likes of Rolling Stone, People Magazine and Vanity Fair mark her continuing emergence as one of the most refreshing voices in music today.
