Like Deadheads or > Fruheads. Lordheads doesn't work for me - -head is an overused suffix, as > are -stock and -gate. I was thinking, perhaps Lords & Ladies? Suggestions? With the exception of "Rusties" and "Deadheads", I've never heard any flattering terms for bands. (A fellow U2 fan of mine used to really resent new U2 fans who didn't listen to old stuff. Such people were called "Rattle and Hummies" or better yet, "Actung Babies".) I doubt it's really necessary. When it comes to names for fans, most people think of geeks (for better or worse) such as Trekkers, Trekkiers of File-o-philes. Kinda daggy stuff! Bye Elwyn ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Jan 2002 12:02:19 EST From: Recordings@aol.com Subject: [MLL] Nick & Scooby If Mary Lou has actually released the demo of "Right On 'til Dawn," I'll be very excited. I actually heard the demo years ago and once sang it back to Mary Lou in an exagerrated Nick Saloman accent as a joke - I was even tempted to do a cover version, just so people could hear the tune. No need for that now! Extrapolating marginally on the JOSIE theme: I'm currently working on the SCOOBY DOO live-action feature. VELMA, played by Freaks & Geeks' Linda Cardinelli, is the sexiest thing in the film, eclipsing even Sarah Geller's DAPHNE. In some ways she even reminds me of Rachel Bussell (with her glasses and intellectual aura), and there are tantalizing hints that Velma goes "both ways" that will probably be excised by the release date. After Velma, Shaggy is the closest to his cartoon alter-ego, followed by Daphne. Fred is Freddie Prinze Jr, not QUITE... I can't say much about the movie itself, except that it is WAY too scary and racy for pre-teens, which means that they're aiming for the AMERICAN PIE audience - and I think that's a mistake, since even my 2-year-old daughter loves Scooby. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Jan 2002 15:19:06 EST From: K3285@aol.com Subject: [MLL] Boston Globe Mary Lou's Live City Sounds get a small mention in today's Globe: http://www.boston.com/dailyglobe2/011/living/15_in_02+.shtml Melissa ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Jan 2002 15:25:32 -0500 From: "Rachel Kramer Bussel" Subject: Re: [MLL] Boston Globe thanks for posting about that Melissa. The voices manager wrote another list that there is no studio audience so if you make it down you can watch from outside but not inside the studio. Also some air times are AIR TIMES: New York: 9-11am Boston: 8-10am Philadelphia: 7-9am Chicago: 7-9am Los Angeles.: 5-7am San Francisco: 5-7am Madison, WI: 6-8am Portland, OR: 5-7am Seattle, WA: 5-7am Atlanta, GA: 9-11am Honolulu, HI: 5-7am Denver, CO: 7-9am Also make sure to stay tuned through the whole show since in the past the festured artist plays snippets of songs for outros to commercials. Nikka Costa and her band did a great job on this segment with all of them in their pjs.
