I've been on this list for a year or so, but rarely post. And when I do it's usually long and off topic. Sound familiar? ;-) It's a lot quieter here than on The Nields Nook - that's a good thing - but there are some cool people here. Just because there aren't a lot of posts doesn't mean no one's here, they're just not filling up bandwidth with idle chit chat. Hey, ask a question, start a topic, see what happens. Oh, and every now and then Mary Lou or Kevin pipes up, which is very cool. Anyway, welcome aboard. I already posted a review of Newport - good to see you there, Sheila, and I can't believe I didn't recognize Rachael Davis - but I could send it directly to you if you like. BTW, I finally got Rachael's CD, and it's sort of taken up residence in my car's player. I've listened to it twice through, and I like it a lot, but I think it's just the tip of the iceberg. I'm willing to agree with whomever posted regarding her live performances, and that the recording doesn't quite do her justice. I mean, as good as it is, it seems to hint at how good she must be live. Which I'm looking forward to. But meanwhile, my current faves the less-produced songs, like #4 - is that "Under Winter? Did I mention it's in my car? - and "January." It's really impressive what she can do with just herself and her guitar. And I like that she alternates between songs with a band and solo arrangements. It shows range and depth. But I must admit, I still have Eddi Reader running through my head. What can I say? Must be about time to put on Big Country live and blast everyone else out of there, clear the decks, and start fresh. Ciao, JourneyBear who must tear himself away from his computer and go to Philly, and try to have fun in the sun and the rain, with 30,000 similarly minded folks, not to mention an incredible lineup for the 40th anniversary. Sigh . . . ;-) >From: AWeiss4338@aol.com >To: Fantine729@aol.com, jinglejangle@smoe.org >Subject: Re: [MLL] intro > >Fantine729@aol.com writes: > > > > What else can I offer by way of an introduction?
