Well , through the help of this list, a few of you guys helped me track her down....This is what's happened since....She's 21 yrs old from Caddilac Michigan soon to be moving to boston...I invited her out here to Boston To hang out with me at the Newport folk festival (I performed this year)...She came out, and after the Fest, we went downtown Newport where I set her and her guitarist up for a night of Busking!!! Man oh Man...People were stunned and amazed at this itty bitty girl singing with the voice of the most beautiful color you've never seen...She's by far (and I DO NOT say this kind of complimentary crap) or get excited like this unless, she is the best singer (besides Eva Cassidy) that I have ever heard...No one sings like Rachael...I'm totally and completely blown away....I like her cd ok, but I think she will grow as a songwriter naturally does....It doesnt blow me away like her voice does...Her voice and her treatment of a song is the main event right now, but as she matures, I can't wait to hear what she'll be writing...So, thanks guys for helping me find her...You guys are the best....That never would have happened in a Jewel mailing list!!!Ha ha....Keep an eye out for Rachael Davis...She might be playing some shows around Detroit soon...I dont know...I also think she has a web-site....www.rachael b davis.com? www.cdbaby.com? (seriously, and it wasn't an easy thing for me to admit, but its true!!) the crowd just stood around mesmerized by her voice, as did i. and that was with the guitar....but when she broke into 'somewhere over the rainbow" without the accompaniment of an instrument....i knew i was looking at an incredibly gifted, talented person who cannot be compared to anyone because she is THAT good. you MUST MUST MUST see her the first chance you get! im look forward to seeing her around boston in the coming months... *matt* ------------------------------ End of jinglejangle-digest V4 #97 *********************************
