MLL seemed to be having a bad night with her voice "shot" but she was still very good. She's very sweet to meet with and talk to afterwards. Got her new self-recorded CD which I've been enjoying a lot. She chooses great songs to cover. I like the "My Own Worst Enemy" song and LOVE "Beeswing", as well as others. Of course Ricochet In Time by Shawn COlvin and You're Gonna Make me Lonesome by Dylan are ones that I cover myself, so go Mary lou--great choices. She's also sweet to recommend other singers like Eva Cassidy and Rachael Davis, who I haven't checked out yet. I also thought her rendition of "Penny Evans" was very powerful. When is the NEwport Folk Festival that she's gonna be at? Is that in September? I may try to go. I'm going to Falcon Ridge for the first time ever in a few weeks. The only folk festivals I've ever been to (and actually performed at when I was 8 with my parents) is Clearwater. Falcon Ridge has a better line up and has a different vibe, from what I've heard. STill, I always love going to Clearwater. IT's Pete Seeger's baby. ANwyay...... gotta run. THanks Mary Lou for all the good music!
