It's not online but the site for the mag is http://www.rockrgrl.com - I haven't seen it yet but I think some of you will enjoy it. Rachel Get email at your own domain with Yahoo! REAL was made while Mary Lou was under the management of Sanford Ponder. ML felt so ripped off from that experience that she hesitated for over a year before signing with Sony during the major label "bidding war" a few years ago. 2. Obviously an official rerelease of REAL would have to be done in conjunction with Ponder, and he'd get most of the money... which raises the possibility that, having sewn up the rights to that material, Ponder could put it out at any time without input from Mary Lou. But he never has, even during all the hoopla surrounding GNS. Somebody could contact Ponder and ask why, but I consider myself a friend of ML and therefore can't get involved with him (in a REALLY weird coincidence, somebody once suggested him as the slide guitarist for my last CD!! Needless to say, I passed) It's also possible that the licences for SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT and the other covers was for the tape medium only. 3. Mary Lou says she was sick while she made the tape, another reason she hates it... but I defy anyone to detect a hint of that. She sounds great. 4. Anyone who has an ORIGINAL copy should only be playing a dubbed version so the original doesn't disintegrate. 5. Somebody on this list once sent me a bootleg catalogue with REAL listed as a CDR. Don't remember who. 6. As much as Mary Lou disparages the tape, she WAS proud that it sold 5,000 copies (I THINK... again, she'd know better.)
