Has anyone else that song "My own worst enemy" from Lit?! ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 14 Oct 2000 17:18:56 -0700 (PDT) From: Rachel Bussel Subject: [MLL] Mercury Lounge show The Mercury Lounge show was really good, I thought Mary Lou sounded excellent and the sound was really exceptional that night. Mary Lou actually drove back to Boston on Friday and back to NY so I know she was tired. The crowd seemed really into her and I met a few people after who had seen her for the first time and were totally impressed and I told them to come to the Kill Rock Stars showcase next weekend. Also, the RAGING TEENS will be playing at this really cool bar Siberia in New York, which is in the 1/9 subway station at 51st/Broadway (you don't ENTER the subway itself, but you walk down the stairs on the downtown side) as part of a Rubric Records showcase. I don't have the time or anything - check http://www.rubricrecords.com - Their new album comes out in January! So Mary Lou played these songs (not in order), though I might be skipping some: Western Union Desperate He'd Be A Diamond Aim Low That Kind of Girl I Don't Want to Get Over You Vincent Black Lightning 1952 Ricochet in Time (Shawn Colvin) Throng of Blowtown She's Still Bewitching Me Beeswing After the show I even heard Mary Lou say she thought the show went well, which means it MUST have been great! And she had t-shirts for sale again and seemed to be selling a bunch of them. For those interested in the vinyl version of the Rubric Records compilation, which will be a double LP with extra tracks (by Bevis Frond and Green Pajamas), it won't be out on November 6th, but will soon, only the CD version is ready now. I heard another track from that album by the Green Pajamas, "She Turns Me On" (I think that's the name) that is really beautiful and that Mary Lou might do a cover of. rachel __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
