Seeing as how I was able to grab the set list for Juliana Hatfield's Troubadour show this past night, thought I'd send it along... I'm not sure what the last song during the first and only encore was, but here goes... HOTELS LIVE IT UP COOL ROCK BOY SNEAKING AROUND - -------------------------------- MIGHT BE IN LOVE SOMEBODY IS WAITING FOR ME (Dedicated to um, was it Chris? She said the song would not have been possible without him) HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE RAIN (joined by the BUFFALO TOM guy that opened) USING YOU - ------------------------------------- EASY WAY OUT - -------------------------------------- HOUSEBOY PROTOGE ROAD WRATH - --------------------------------------- MY SISTER WHEN YOU LOVED ME (I think it was here that after one persistant girl kept screaming "Nirvana," she and her band played a little more than the first verse...) CRY IN THE DARK BAD DAY - --------------- Encore --------------- SLOW MOTION (Mentioned it's about how she often feels like a character in a Samuel Beckett novel and suggested those wanting to get into her psyche read his works...) [and that mystery last song...] It was a good show, but super hot and my major complaint would be with the sound mixing. Perhaps it was just being right up against the stage and over to the side, but there were many times where I could see her lips move but here no vocals at all. I'd much rather see Juliana do an acoustic set than an electronic one. I'm so glad the first time I saw Juliana play was in an intimate performance in a RHINO Records record store. One nice touch... The mix tape playing between the three bands was very heavy in Mary Lou Lord. "Lights Are Changing," was playing when I walked in at 8, and as I neared the stage I couldn't help but butt in when a group of guys asked their music guru who was playing and I heard him answer "Tonya Donnelly."... And then, after a couple CAKE songs and such and another MLL track or two, "She Had You," was playing as the JOHN DOE THING began and ended their set.
