I caught some of Rose Polenzani, who I enjoyed, and she said she's a fan of Mary Lou's. Then we maneuvered to the front so I could actually see Mary Lou, who was sporting the oft seen blue halter top and a brand new tattoo. She played for what seemed like a long time to me, and lots of new-ish stuff, or at least new covers. She covered a song by this Seattle band The Green Pajamas called "She's Still Bewitching Me" that I really liked, and Mary Lou said it would be suitable from one of the witch shows on tv, and she said how she's from Salem. Here's the songs she played that I recall, I'm sure there were more, and these are not at all in order: His Lamest Flame He'd Be a Diamond His ND World Helsinki Some Jingle Jangle Morning Western Union Desperate Lights Are Changing I Figured You Out Down Along the Lea Subway I'm Talking To You (maybe???, could be my imagination) That Kind of Girl Aim Low I Don't Want To Get Over You (Magnetic Fields) From Galway To Graceland Vincent Black Lightning 1952 another Richard Thompson song I don't know the name of She's Still Bewitching Me New Thing Now She played some other covers that I don't know the names of, one of which she dedicated to Annabelle. She told a funny story about being at SXSW and playing outside and having Neil Young's partner come down and tell her that Neil liked her music. She also said she's been officially dropped from Sony, and said that is a good thing. She's going to have a song (From Galway to Graceland) on a compilation on Rubric Records (http://www.rubricrecords.com) which is going to come out May 30, according to their site. Also, Rubric just signed The Raging Teens who will be recording their next album soon in LA. Also, I saw on another list that the TAZ compilation with a Mary Lou track is being completed now. :) Rachel __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
