Very energetic and talented, they had a couple 7"s for sale and I got one with a unicorn on it....i can't remember the name but I definitely suggest it and that's great news about the new split 7" with Mary Lou...so if they're in your area check them out!!! ~Britta ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Jun 1999 14:20:43 -0400 From: Jaymes F Horton Subject: [MLL] Re: Mary Lou Lord Iota Cafe 6/20 report >Date: Mon, 21 Jun 1999 10:47:00 -0400 (EDT) >From: Michael Zwirn >Subject: [MLL] Mary Lou Lord Iota Cafe 6/20 report > >"sucker for his double dose" - what's the title for this one again? Thanks for writing up such a comprehensive report on the show, Michael. I'm glad I didn't attempt it after reading your post! :) Jaymes ___________________________________________________________________ Get the Internet just the way you want it. The "Oh Bill" song is called "Hard Road" and is by Lucinda Williams. She also played this at Tune Inn and dedicated it to all buskers. She also played "Hey, Antoinette!" and "Blimps Go 90" at Tune Inn. -- Rachel ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Jun 1999 20:05:08 EDT From: SeanJordan@aol.com Subject: [MLL] Any favorite charities? I'm one of the two winners of ONElist's contest (Actually, I'm both winners, but you can only win once) for the list that has grown the most, both in people and percentage-wise, over the past two months. ONElist will be awarding the charity of my choice with a check for $5,000 on my behalf (in their name). I do have a charity in mind, but I am wondering if any of you out there know of worthy organizations you'd like to recommend I check out before making my decision in the next 24-hours. I think I am looking for something somewhat entertainment-related, whether it be an organization that speaks out for freedom of speach or helps broke writers with health issues or something. But on that note, I don't think I'll have the check go to one of the majors, like the ACLU, since there is probably a smaller but prominent organization out there who have more need for the donation. Thanks for any help~ Sean Jordan http://www.ZENtertainment.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Jun 1999 21:49:34 PDT From: Steve Bornstein Subject: Re: [MLL] Any favorite charities? First of all, congratulations! Nice of you to offer it to charity. Yoko Ono and The Grateful Dead run charities, but I don't know their names!! Also, Respond is an abused women's shelter in Boston that is the recipient of proceeds from sales of a compilation featuring female artists from the area. Not directly music-related, but a possibility. I remember seeing something once about a musician's home similar to the one for actors. And there is indeed a health care program for musicians, which operates just like any group insurance plan. I'm going to keep searching for that. Anybody know how to find them?
