She played most requests except for a few which she said she honestly didn't remember anymore. The audience was totally engaged - it was so silent during her set. A terrible Smiths cover band opened, slaughtering a couple songs, then citing technical dificulties (they couldn't get their instruments in tune) for cutting their set short. A total of four songs, I think. I got stuck guarding Mary Lou's guitar for her during their show, as she had gone to find something to drink and was extremely tired. But she was still amazing as usual and I really enjoyed talking to her and Kevin again, who says the Raging Teens cd is doing really well, by the way. > >And in other somewhat-related news, I saw Elliott Smith twice last >week, >once at the 9:30 Club in DC which I wasn't too impressed with, and >then >Friday at Irving Plaza in NY which featured really amazing sound and >great >songs and was just an amazing show... > Yeah, I caught the 9:30 club show, too. Does anyone know what was up with Elliott that night? He was quite obviously not into the show, though the new songs he played were a welcome surprise and Jr. High was great. It's not there now, but there is a MLL/Guided By Voices poster available... ~Sean http://www.ZENtertainment.com ------------------------------ End of jinglejangle-digest V2 #41 *********************************
