My favorite of MLL's originals is "The Bridge," favorite cover is "This Must Be the Place (A Naive Melody)" by Talking Heads. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Dec 1998 13:13:56 -0500 From: Cinnamon Girl Subject: [MLL] My favorites THE BRIDGE is a perennial fave-o-rite. My favorite MLL-penned songs are "Some Jingle-Jangle Morning" (one of my all-time favorite songs) and "His Indie World." Runners-up: "Western Union Desperate," "His Lamest Flame" (yeah, I know she co-wrote it; the "na na na na nas" get me every time). Favorite cover has to be her cover of Shawn Colvin's "New Thing Now," which hasn't been officially released (note to Mary Lou's management--please get an official recording of this out there!). But I have a new respect for "He'd Be a Diamond" since I saw her perform it live, and I also like "That Kind of Girl," "1952 Vincent Black Lightning," "Book," and "I'm Talking to You." Anxiously awaiting that east coast college tour, Suzanne p.s. Incidentally, I know a few of you are still looking for "The Pace of Change." Believe me, copies are out there. Keep checking on www.ebay.com, where they usually go for like $5, and Southland cd at www.slcd.com. It's well worth having. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Dec 1998 19:34:30 -0500 From: bliss69@juno.com (Jaymes F Horton) Subject: [MLL] Re: Favorite songs >> The list has been a little quiet these past couple of days, so >I >>thought of a survey for all of us to answer.... Definitley "His N.D. World" (full band country-style though, not like on the Austin radio comp) and "Camden Town Rain" (because its so personal and moving). Including covers? "Birthday Boy" is one of the best! Jaymes ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
