After listening to the songs, I couldn't find any differences. The credits even lead you to believe they were taken straight from their original albums so I don't think the songs are different from the album versions.<< SOME JINGLE JANGLE MORNING, on Mind The Gap, is an alternate mix from the final version on GNS. Compare them at high volume and you'll hear lots of compression (a kind of "sucking" effect) on the MTG version. I find the GNS version much more listenable. Why the difference? MLL wasn't happy with the drum sound on the first mix of JINGLE JANGLE - specifically, she thought the drums were too "boomy" and that the snare wasn't bright enough. "This isn't a DANCE record!" she said. Another producer was brought in to try new mixes, and one of the attempted fixes was compression. I don't claim to be the ultimate insider, but Mary Lou DID play me her personal rough cassette with SIX different mixes of JINGLE JANGLE on it (one of them was a "clean" radio version) shortly after they were made. ------------------------------ End of jinglejangle-digest V1 #217 **********************************
