I have heard a lot of her, except this cover she did of van halen's Jump that someone sent me on tape....so when she asked if anyone had any requests i yelled out "Can you do Jump" and she gets this "oh my god" look on her face, and says something like "where'd you hear that.....I dont know if I remember it....well....maybe" She asked several more times if anyone had any requests through the show, each time saying "Anyone want to hear anything else *besides* Jump?"...it was funny, then finally she played it (it really is a cool cover). Anyway....the whole thing was great...except the opener..Warren Prash (I think)...I wasnt very impressed. I had a pretty horrid Bumbershoot experience on Saturday. Now when you enter Bumbershoot they give you a schedule of the days bands. Listed on the bands playing on Saturday was someone named "Mary Lord" (I assumed there wasn't enough room to fit in the "Lou"). Now I knew MLL was playing on Monday(I couldn't go Monday because of work) but I thought I lucked out by her being scheduled to play two days. So I stand in line for an hour waiting for MLL to play (the lines at bumbershoot were horrendous). Then finally they let us in the theatre and I sit through 3 classical musicians (I was a little puzzeled as to why MLL was playing on the classical stage, but I figured there must be a good reason). Anyway a man comes out and finally announces "Mary Lord" and out walks this little "older" woman minus a guitar. I was in shock. Who would think there would be TWO women playing at bumbershoot with SUCH similar names. I'm still so disappointed about missing MLL. But at least I got a slightly amusing story out of the name mix up. - -Vanessa ------------------------------ End of jinglejangle-digest V1 #185 **********************************
