I saw her yesterday at the Goodwill Games opening for Simply Red. It was a HUGE stage and they also showed her performance on this really big screen next to the stage, and the sound was really awesome. She played: I'm Talking to You He'd Be a Diamond Western Union Desperate 1952 Vincent Black Lightning She Had You HIs Lamest Flame Hey, Antionette! Romeo and Juliet (Dire Straits??) Anyway, it was a short but sweet set and she looked and sounded really awesome up there by herself. She said she did an interview with New York One (TV station) but I didn't catch it. I know there are a bunch of tour dates so I will try to get the rundown and post em all here...they are east coast dates and then Lilith Fair, starting Aug. 16 I think. Zwirn" Subject: [MLL] Could someone explain to me ...? Are Mary Lou Lord and the Loud Family on the exact same touring schedule? NY/Philly/DC/Atlanta, all on the same nights in succession. This has got to be frustrating for me and scads of other people on both the MLL and Loud-fans list. (I'm beginning to wondering if Mary Lou is hiding somewhere on the Loud Family minivan, and emerging only to do hit-and-run solo shows elsewhere in town while the Louds do their own concerts.) - --------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael J. But I will get it back or put up a new one...the rest of the page is still there. I'm gonna try to add some things. Anyway, just to let you know. I mentioned to Mary Lou that she has some same dates as the Loud Family and she also mentioned how they seem to be on the same schedule - but they were off by a day in NYC. Not to dis Mary Lou AT ALL, but it seems like she tours more often than they do, but maybe I'm wrong, but I guess people just have to decide. I was just at Intel fest where every night was a major decision-making process, so what can you do? Or you could try to see both in one night!! :) Rachel ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 20 Jul 1998 11:05:59 -0400 From: Cinnamon Girl Subject: Re: [MLL] last night's show I think she also played THERE STANDS THE GLASS or whatever that song is called. I was at the same open bar as Rachel...so for all I know she could've played BANG A GONG... ;} Mary Lou was fab. Sunny Day was fab. Blondie was ultra-fab. The open bar & Sal (the bartender) were BOTH fab. - --Cinnamon ------------------------------ End of jinglejangle-digest V1 #147 **********************************
