Zwirn" Subject: [MLL] Freedy I saw Freedy Johnston last night in Annapolis at this elegant (read: pricey food) club called the Ram's Head. It was kind of a last-minute thing (I left a frisbee game early) but there was plenty of space there, which surprised me. He did "Lucky One," mentioned MLL and pointed out that she had changed one of the lyrics in which he sings "with my shirt off" to "where the lemons drop" (on a slot machine - the song is set in Vegas). Funny, I hadn't noticed that before. He's going to be at Intelfest tonight, so some of you NYCites may have a chance to see him. Very good show, and he's previewing a lot of songs from a record to be released in '99 sometime. They sound good! - --------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael J. Tonite is too crazy...too many shows to see....NOT ENOUGH TIME!!!!! p.s. Went to Lilith last nite (sans Mary Lou) and FYI: Morcheeba is AMAZING! Skye Edwards is my new hero. - --Cinnamon ------------------------------ Date: 17 Jul 1998 15:34:40 -0500 From: Paul Kuehl Subject: [MLL] Pumpkins As an interesting note to everyone (at least those who care)... Minneapolis will probably burn down tonight. The Smashing Pumpkins are playing a free concert in the middle of the downtown streets in Minneapolis. They are estimating 100,000 people in attendence (which would be the largest music event ever in Minnesota). I thought you'all might find that interesting. If not, have a great weekend anyway. By the way, I'll probably be avoiding the whole mess and stay home with my MLL discs. Good night... Usually to collect change and donations. I believe it's actually British slang for that. ------------------------------ End of jinglejangle-digest V1 #144 **********************************
