What are the chances that after eight years, just at the beginning of the fame process, she chooses to rehabilitate herself from alcohol? Oh well, I'm sure she'll be back on track and touring again in no time. Let's cross those fingers. Well I've heard just about all I can stand about her 'Real' recording and the 'Pace of Change', I need them. I'm willing to pay...A LOT :-) - -Rachel L ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 Apr 98 15:56:48 -0400 From: "Lee S. Kilpatrick (Mr. Breeze)" Subject: [MLL] Increased popularity? So has Mary Lou gained increased popularity with the release of "Got No Shadow"? Yeah, she has done a lot of promotional interviews and things, but how has the record been selling? Does she get airplay? When she was touring, did the concerts have greater attendance than previously? I personally haven't seen that her airplay and popularity have increased noticiably, but I don't listen to the radio that much. I did turn a friend on to her by giving her a "Got No Shadow" CD. If this is the case, then it doesn't seem that surprising given the potential stress caused by such changes in her life (having a major record label album come out, doing tons of promotion, touring, etc.) It probably wasn't that she *chose* to rehabilitate herself now, but she probably couldn't afford to *not* do it at this time. Am sorry to hear about the cancellation of the tour, but was lucky enough to see her twice this year. The first show was wonderful, but the second I was disappointed with since her set list was almost exactly the same. Oh well, such is life I guess.... Anyone who is willing to sell me more MLL, pls email me at mhz@sfu.ca. Thanks!!! Said it sounded like the Byrds covering Dylan, especially 'Lights are Changing'. Then I showed him that one of the songs was called "Some Jingle Jangle Morning" and he started nodding his head real fast 'cuz he's a total Dylan fan. He wanted ME to make HIM a tape. Wowsers. When was the last time your parents made that request? - -jan ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 Apr 1998 18:19:14 EDT From: AWeiss4338 Subject: Re: [MLL] Increased popularity? One day my mother and I were in the car, listening to the radio (WXPN in philladelphia) and Lights Are Changing came on the radio. I told my mother who was singing and asked for her oppion when the song was over. She liked her a lot and said she had a very nice voice. And my mother doesn't really like rock too much!
