I know I typed out this transcription a half year ago, but the members on this list have quadrupled in size since then and there are probably more than a few guitar slingers among them. so, here you go, the tab (chords, really) for Sunspot Stopwatch (on Martian Saints, for those you haven't heard it yet). CAPO on FRET 4!!!! ( oh ya----the lyrics are all totally subject to change. I don't have a good ear for words...) G Em With your sunspot stopwatch renegade, save your stances C D you said "take your chances, or else you'll break your branches as you climb" G Em to that top shelf, tuna melt, buckle up your seatbelt Rickie Lee Jones C and everything you think you own D is fool's gold and ancient fossil stone. G Em You got more than you need, but you need a lot more than some do C well let your cigarette burn through D the things that you can't undo if you tried G Em Well that's tough luck, chicken butt, Daffy Duck he never got old, babe C They'll bury you with gold, yeh D if that's enough to hold you for today C D and I've got to hand it to you C D why you do what you do Em C it's times like this I'm glad that I aint you D you think you got the devil on retreat D G but he's back up on his feet and he's looking for you. G Em With your monkey wrench you'll dig a trench and don't you see the light they're shining C shutup and quit your whining D four star restaurant, dining in the shade G Em Well then your mini-skirt will hit the dirt and baby you'll be crying and bleeding C Hurt by the hand thats feeding D And you'll be back in Olympia, pleading for your soul CHORUS; SAME CHORDS...you'll figure out the ending, it's nothing new. (And Iiiiiiiii've gotta hand it to youuuuuu....) Let me know if this is decent. It's really simple, so even those of you that only know a few chords probably have the skills to strum out this song. I luff it. Tell me where my mistakes are. I plan to take on the new album--as much of it as possible. I'll share what comes out of it. Bye everyone. Mary Lou looked kinda tired and sounded hoarse. When I saw her later that day she seemed to have more life to her. Only the 2nd time seeing the video though...I think you can see my hair in it! If you didn't catch it, Matt Pinnfield talked to her for a bit, about Nick Salomon, Tinuviel/KRS, Elizabeth Cotten, the new record, and she said MOJO is her favorite magazine. I just noticed that Scott Weiland, who was on during the first hour, seemed much more comfortable talking and all, Mary Lou seemed more unsure of herself, or maybe it's just that she's soft-spoken. Lilith Fair lineups and dates are being announced sometime this week - I think the 15th or 16th. I'll forward 'em to the list when I get them, or else check www.lilithfair.com to see about Mary Lou. Also, I guess Raging Teens are either finishing out the tour or did some of the shows this weekend because someone on another list said they saw them. - -- rachel "I don't want to be your petty heartbreaker but I know that I'll never be that girl on your turntable that girl on your t.v." -- the bangs, "S.O.S." - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- my Mary Lou Lord page is at http://pages.nyu.edu/~rkb200/ To join the Mary Lou Lord mailing list, email Majordomo@smoe.org with ONLY "subscribe jinglejangle" OR "subscribe jinglejangle-digest" in the BODY.
