I was waiting outside of the Pontiac Grille at the Philly MLL concert when this guy came out and passed out free Mary Lou Lord cds. I got a single of "Lights are Changing" like most everyone else but to my surprise one of my friends got a 4 song acoustic cd instead. I still haven't received my free cd over the mail yet but I have persuaded my friend to trade me the the MLL cd he got named "The Pace of Change" and I think it is the free one offered over the mail. "The Pace of Change" CD contains 4 new songs all acoustic: 1)1952 Vincent Black Lightning (first time I heard her ever play it was at the Philly concert) 2)Book 3)Ontario, Quebec and Me 4)On the Avenue I don't think this CD is out in the stores because on the back cover it says it's for demonstration only and not for sale. This could change in the future though. They were also handing out Mary Lou Lord tour "Got No Shadow" posters at the Philly concert which was pretty cool since I was up front and was able to snag one. The Philly concert was good but the Pontiac Grille just sucks because its so damn narrow and they try to rush the musicians and fans out of the venue as quickly as possible once the shows over. The 9:30 Club and Fletchers concerts were much better because it was a more intimate atmosphere and you actually had time to talk to Mary Lou. By the way is it true "lights Are Changing" is airing tonight on 120 Minutes? Later, ~VAN~ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 15 Mar 1998 16:45:19 -0500 (EST) From: Rachel Subject: [MLL] pace of change Yup that's the acoustic EP we're gonna get free in the mail, some stores were giving them away with purchase of Got No Shadow too. I didn't see anyone giving anything away at Pontiac Grill but that's probably because we were kindof late. I'm gonna be asleep during 120 Minutes cuz I gotta make an early flight, so if someone tapes it and can make me a copy I'll be really grateful (Sean? No, you're giving me the supreme tape) Well, according to "sources," MTV really likes Mary Lou so they should be playing her vid a lot. Watch for me...I'll try to get a chance to watch it sometime this week while I actually have access to a TV. LA area folks, the day after MLL's show, Angie Hart's new band Splendid is playing at Spaceland - yay!! :) Rachel "your machinations leave me speechless and resigned and while I won't deny your talent I'm gonna quit wasting my time" -- sarge, "beguiling" - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- my Mary Lou Lord page is at http://pages.nyu.edu/~rkb200/ To join the Mary Lou Lord mailing list, email Majordomo@smoe.org with ONLY "subscribe jinglejangle" OR "subscribe jinglejangle-digest" in the BODY. And it's true about Conan's height! I watch that show quite a bit and guests are always commenting on how they thought he'd be smaller. - --Erin ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 15 Mar 1998 21:32:27 -0500 From: LIONELHUTZ@webtv.net (JEFF WURTZ) Subject: [MLL] conan i think conan enjoyed mary lous performance! he seemed generally happy, i think he and andy richter are real music lovers though, i remeber conan seemed really excited when chantel kreviasek played last week, did anyone else notice it was like a boston show that night, conan, dennis leary and mary lou lord! representing! and conan is like 6 ft4 ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 15 Mar 1998 21:44:15 -0600 (CST) From: "The craziest things happen when you're asleep..." Anyone who can email me any information about this show/ that fabled 'list' would be greatly thanked and worshipped.
