Is there anyone out there interested in trading for a copy of Live at Muzak? As soon as I get a chance I'm going to make all posts with the word "Muzak" in them not go to the list. Please do NOT post about "Live at Muzak". This is not the fault of those who have save for the person who first posted it to this list. In the future if actions like this occur again, I will consider going to a fully moderated digest. This tape does not exist. I apologize to the list for not being more vigilant and hope that in the future people use some integrity and judgment when posting here. Let's move on to more cheerful and true subjects...please, everyone can post on here, if you don't like what's being posted or have questions, post them. This list is what you make it. REMINDER: Mary Lou will be featured on Philadelphia's WXPN 88.5) on Saturday. For more info, go to www.xpn.org, where it says: Mary Lou Lord is one of the finest performers to come out of the indie-rock scene, and her long awaited debut CD, "Got No Shadow," was recently highlighted as a featured CD of the week on XPN. Drawing on the best elements of indie-rock and turning them into accessible pop, Mary Lou Lord is sure to entertain at our showcase on March 7 at the Pontiac Grill. I was under the impression she'd be on the radio but maybe they just mean that they are sponsoring her show at Pontiac Grill. I guess if you're in the area listen to that station for more details. In non-MLL news, Kathleen Hanna's solo album, under the name Julie Ruin, will be out on April 3 on Kill Rock Stars. - -- rachel ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 6 Mar 1998 12:32:02 EST From: Zerowork Subject: [MLL] Stranger/Coach House Hello everyone. Just wanted to comment on the Starnger review. The music editor of the Stranger hates MLL, and her and I have talked about it several times. The paper's general point of view is that if you work at the paper (like Sean who wrote the article who's in the horrible one-hit wonder band Harvey Danger), are related to someone who does (Jeremy from Pilot is the editors brother) or are in a band on a n indie-label from Olympia or Portland, you are great. Most everyone else is at least suspect. Kathleen, the music editor, hates all female singer-songwriters. Oh well, both Sean and Kathleen are good people, just misguided musically, too bad that is their job. There is no show at the Coach House in San Jaun Capistrano. Sorry. The video goes to MTV this morning...there is no guarantee they will play it. I suspect it might get played on 120minutes initially, if at all. We'll see. It is also going to VH-1 along with pitch to have MLL do Crossroads, which would be cool. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 6 Mar 1998 14:39:00 -0500 From: "Rivers, Ata" Subject: RE: [MLL] Stranger/Coach House So, where and when is Mary Lou playing in the L.A. area other than the Troubador?
