Today's Subjects: ----------------- [EDA] Picking Up the Pieces [Barry Howarth Subject: [EDA] Picking Up the Pieces Hi all, Well, I finally got my copy of Picking Up the Pieces. Yesterday I saw a copy of it in one of the local record shops and was sorely tempted to buy it. But I waited, and it was worth the wait. Just lovely. It was great to hear those old songs, in their new versions. Being old, Im quite conservative (except not politically) and I do like the old versions. But Im sure these new versions will grow on me. But Jewel was a bit naughty in changing the Anais Nin quote in His Pleasure Is My Pain. I know she used it in another song, the name of which escapes me for the moment itll probably come to me in the middle of the night I think it is on This Way. But still, here is where, to my mind, it belonged. Anyway, Ill be listening to Picking Up the Pieces again tomorrow, and probably every day thereafter for quite a while. Its so good to have a new record, with great new songs. Were having beautiful spring weather here now and our government has done some spring cleaning as well, though the rubbish they tossed out has not been replaced by anything much better. Take care, Barry Howarth ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V18 #53 ***************************
