Today's Subjects: ----------------- [EDA] POY [Barry Howarth ] Re: [EDA] Pieces Of You [Amanda Steinke ] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sun, 19 Oct 2014 10:47:15 +1100 From: Barry Howarth Subject: [EDA] POY The last time I played POY was on her birthday earlier this year, when I played many of the other albums as well. These days I play Lullaby a lot. I think it was late 97 when I first came on this list, but I certainly havent doubled my age since then: Id be over a hundred if I had and Im not (well not quite) three-quarters of the way to that milestone. But my daughter has doubled her age since I bought her POY for her for her 18th birthday, which was the first time I listened to the whole album. YWMFM had been pursuing me everywhere I went and I mentioned this to her and she said she liked Jewel, hence the birthday present. I went out and bought a copy for myself the very next day and found this list not long after. Its been a decade since I saw Jewel live three nights in a row in the Sydney Opera House: unforgettable! and I dont think she be over this way again. However, Im looking forward to the new album, as always, and Ive never been disappointed. Take care, Everyday Angels. I honestly can no longer remember how long it's been since I initially joined this list (seems like sometime around the release of Spirit). I kind of miss the days when my inbox could fill up with EDA messages in just a couple of hours. One perk to my job is that I can listen to music all day long, and Jewel, of course, is frequently played, so it hasn't been long since I last listened to Pieces of You. Definitely within the last few weeks. I'm really looking forward to the new CD (any word on a release date yet?), since it's supposed to be like a sister album to POY. Can't wait to hear what she comes up with for this one. Hope all my fellow angels are well!
