They accepted the offer, and that interview will be shown soon. Kiera and Peter are huge fans of GeekBeat, and were thrilled. After the interview airs, I'm sure Kiera will post a full description of their experience. Stay tuned. We're both fans too and have followed her since GeekBrief days some years ago now. Anyway, I went up to talk to her and tell her how much my husband in particular has been following her podcasts. She interviewed us after the show and then even better, invited us to the studio in Dallas for the filming of the show the next day. We got to hang out all morning and into the afternoon with her, Dave Curlee, John P out at Livid Lobster studios and then Philip Nelson arrived with the Texfest footage (but wouldn't let me see it). He then performed an impromptu live performance on GeekBeat.TV live with John P. Afterwards, he even serenaded me with some Jewel songs. *blush*. I loved every minute of the concert and the whole EDA Texfest experience and then to complete our holiday with Cali Lewis and the team was the icing on the cake. The link to the show you posted is the one we saw recorded and we were the live audience. Ha! Brilliant time and we even came away with some tech freebies. Not bad for 2 geeks from Ireland! I'm fading would have been a great one and I had thought of it on the night and wondered if she would play it. I would have liked to hear "A Boy Needs A Bike" and heard a couple of people request that but I wasn't brave enough to request any myself. But in all honesty, she pretty much played everything I would have wanted and can't think of how she could have topped it beyond the above mentioned songs. She gave us way more than she's ever given a show before and I'm still in awe that she stood up there for 3 and a half hours, on her feet, about 7 months pregnant. If you'd have seen me when I was that pregnant, I could barely walk for too long let alone stand. She's amazing! ________________________________ From: Robert Byrne To: jewel@smoe.org Sent: Fri, 22 April, 2011 6:30:27 Subject: [EDA] Re: Five songs you would've added? Only 5? I didn't get mine for ages but then I tried to login to the store and it wouldn't accept my password so I requested a new one. Oddly enough, as soon as I did that, I got the password reset email and the download email at the same time. Not sure why or how but it could just be a weird glitch with their webserver and your email is in limbo. Try doing that and maybe your email will come through too. Like many, a one time return of Nikos would have been extraordinary. However, it then would have been out there on a recent recording in perfect quality, and perhaps it's too personal to have so available. I really thought it was an amazing set list. One or two more common songs would never have hurt either, not the biggest hits, but just a couple fan favorites would have never hurt. Not sure what I'd pick to fill that though. Otherwise, Jessica, My Own Private God's Gift to Women, and that about rounds out everything I would have wanted for the collection. I must say, listening to the CD download is incredible. I love it MORE than that night. I was distracted by a lot of squeaking in the hallway behind me, so the CD is giving me the sound I desire, and by being there, I can juts think "I was there when this was sung," so it's really the best of both worlds. Not only the squeaking, but in the final hour, I started to think about my flight just seven hours away and wanting to get some sleep, I didn't enjoy it as much, and now I can on the CD download. Perfectly Clear, Absence of Fear, Adrian, etc. were AMAZING to hear again These and more blew me away. I quite like the sleepy head Sarah kid song too. What an incredible collection. Honestly, the download (CD) is probably the greatest thing that will come out of the event. A real gem of a collection!
