This is a libelous/slanderous claim, and unless it is true, there's going to be a lot of pissed off Jewel fans. Jewel has always kidded her audience about her teeth and her boobs, both of which I love dearly, not for their novelty but for the fact that they're real, just like her. I can't tell you how many times I've heard the dentist and the "I want to get you in my chair" story at her concerts. "Look down, look at the boobies," or some similar punch line was how Jewel usually finished this story. I can't imagine Jewel telling this story year after year, having had a boob job. It would be almost be sacrilegious. There is no doubt that Jewel is a gorgeous woman. I've always thought that she was the most amazingly sexy earthy chick I've ever known--and not because of her breasts. I've loved ALL of her music from the very beginning (yes, I love the 0304 album just as much as any of the others, if not more) and I've realized that my "love" for Jewel is not just a by-product of how attractive she is, but as corny as it sounds, how intimately she reaches my soul. Her music and her lyrics are what makes her truly beautiful and the truth behind the music makes her a legitimate artist. So before I break down and cry, I would like to know the truth. Anybody? ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Apr 2010 13:10:36 -0400 From: SA Evans Subject: Re: [EDA] Jewel's non-plastic boobs I saw Ride with the Devil over a decade ago. She certainly didn't get implants since then. ;) On Wed, Apr 28, 2010 at 12:23 PM, jewel k wrote: > This website with the botched plastic surgery photos had better back up their > claim that my precious Jewel has gone under the knife. It ended up in my inbox instead of my Jewel folder, which means it wasn't sent to jewel@smoe.org It is very poorly worded, and obviously a scam. Keep an eye out, kids! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Apr 2010 22:18:20 -0400 From: Mike Connell Subject: Re: [EDA] NJC:Interesting Actually it was real and went through the list servers at smoe.org. The reason it was in yoiur inbox and not the Jewel folder is because Eliot blind CC'd the email and it appears you (based on what you said) have your filter set to "jewel@smoe.org" which did not appear in his email due to the blind CC. Please don't be so quick to judge and don't be so sure you have it all figured out ("which means it wasn't sent to jewel@smoe.org"). Poor guy gets robbed at gun point and likely feared getting killed and you call it a scam because you don't know how to tell where an email came from. As for "poorly worded", let's see how well you compose an email after having gone through everything he described. Even if that is the case, it is a scam. One of my friends had this happen as well through her facebook account several months ago, and another friend's mother freaked out and wondered why she never told anyone she was going to Europe, and wondered why we weren't helping, and was about to send money to help her get back home. She was home the whole time. I've seen posts by Eliot before, and there's no way his (her?) english would suddenly become so poor. His normal sig was at the bottom of the email, so it is possible his account has been hijacked. Look at the first item here, and you will see it is eerily similar. http://urbanlegendsonline.com/category/emails/ - --- On Wed, 4/28/10, Mike Connell wrote: > From: Mike Connell > Subject: Jason, you are wrong - NJC:Interesting > To: "Jason Quattrini" > Date: Wednesday, April 28, 2010, 9:49 PM > At 09:06 PM 4/28/2010, you wrote: > >I just got a scam email from "Elliot Lemoncelli" > >using his name and email address, and it started out > >with [EDA]. My bad!!! I should have investigated further. I myself was quick to judge. Jason was right, this IS a scam and it seems very likely Eliot's email was hacked. The wording is a well known scam. Google the first sentance and one gets many hits. I was right in pointing out the original email went through the list, but I was STUPID not realizing the Blind CC was a sign that it could be a scam and a hijacked account. My apologies to Jason for calling hiom out and my apologies to the list for not looking into this better before my first reply to the list.
