But I'm guessing it's one of those trips that someone like Jewel has to do at least once in her life before it gets to the point where they do start a family and then it's not so easy to just jump on a motorcycle and do a big trek across a continent. But overall, I love that she's remained so grounded and that blog proves how thankful she is for every day and not veiled by fame or fortune. Though I'd say it's nice enough never having to worry about paying a bill ever again! That's one of side of fame she's no doubt blessed and thankful for. ________________________________ From: "Pupecki, Stacy" To: jewel@smoe.org Sent: Wed, 10 March, 2010 20:33:43 Subject: [EDA] jewel's blog I'm surprised no one has talked about jewel's 4 part blog on her website. part 3 on fame is very intersting, a very different and smart and accurate perspective by her. part 4 about her and ty wanting to ride motorcycles from texas to alaska this summer is just scary. I hope she reconsiders. Please be advised that this email may contain confidential information. If you are not the intended recipient, please do not read, copy or re-transmit this email. Nice to see someone else backing a European version! I find myself sounding like a broken record on that sometimes but it really is excessively overdue. I'm up for any Jewel interaction in Europe now at this stage. In terms of anything specific for Eurofans...we've been ignored for a very long time now. If she does the Europe bike ride and comes back to Ireland, I promise to show her the Garden of Ireland and all the delights we have to offer her and I'll bake soda bread, scones and have homemade jam and tea on offer too! ________________________________ From: Dave McGovern To: Jewel List Sent: Thu, 11 March, 2010 1:10:29 Subject: [EDA] Another Jewelstock? She posted the following Tweet on March 2nd: "2 the best fan community in the wrld-the Every Day Angels- random acts of kindness world wide& another Jewel Stock!-Stay tuned 4 blog" So, we're still waiting for the new blog, but it sounds like she's definitely thinking about doing another Jewelstock. I Tweeted her and asked if they might have a quiet corner of the ranch available for a weekend of music and fun? I know, lots of potential issues including liability, security, and all the other logistics involved in a large gathering but, who knows? Maybe somewhere in the Stephenville area? It's a fairly central North American location. Maybe that and also a Jewelstock Euro version? She did mention something about wanting to rent motorcycles and cruise Europe. We might have to do some lobbying. It'll be interesting to see what the upcoming "EDA Blog" contains. I'm eagerly waiting for Jewel's blog and more details about what she has in mind about a new Jewelstock. I'm ready to travel from France for this !!!! I never thought about a Jewelstock Euro version...how awesome would that be ??? but a few classic shows in Europe would be neat too, I would love to follow Jewel on a few dates and hang out again with Michiel and Chris G. James - I framed my copy, so shame on you! ha ha In fact, I took mine to one of her meet & greets and got a photo with her and the lyrics - she thought it was pretty cool. I just bought a new house and there's some major construction to be done, soooo I've decided to sell a few things... my convertible, some electronics junk, .....and the part one of you might actually care about, back in Nov/December 2008 our lady was doing some charity auctions at jeweljkauction.com, and I bid on and won the "Jewel Handwritten and Signed "Who Will Save Your Soul" Lyrics" sheet. Of course I thought I would have it framed and display it somewhere, but it's been sitting in my desk drawer in its protective little envelope for 15 months, and I figured it might need a new home. It's going to go on eBay pretty soon but if there's anyone on here that's interested in it, I'd be happier to see it rest with an EDA. There were a bunch of sheets available - YWMFM, FG and others, I wanted WWSYS because of the song's significance to her career, although it was YWMFM that made me fall in love with her music. It's written on a fairly heavy bond, 7.25 x 10.5 off white piece of paper, nothing very fancy. The top corner says she wrote it 11/11/08 in Nashville. You can tell she went through writing these pretty quick. She wrote the wrong "you're" (should've been your), there's two spots where she traced back over a letter, and she started writing "those stri" and crossed out "stri" and corrected, "those flings, those strings" Just saying, it ain't perfect, but it is her all the same. In any case, it will take about $1100 to get it out of my desk drawer, which puts me at a slight loss versus what I paid. ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V14 #22 ***************************
