I gotta say I still looked for the emails for major jewel announcements all the way up until Jewel joined Twitter. She and her team are really good via Twitter on keeping us up to date. I've checked into the various jewel forums, but I haven't been able to get involved. I think I feel overwhelmed in the forums. The list was ahead of it's time. It flourished when we needed it to. How else could we set up meetups and trade angelfood? I kinda miss the art of making a good J card for the tapes. Haha. Anywho, whatever they do they can't have the name EDA! They can be everyday angels, but not EDAs. Nope. I run the Jewel Kilcher Forum (www.jewelkilcherforum.com) and have been thinking strongly about closing it down for the past 6 months or so purely because I don't have the time to dedicate to it anymore. It's showing too as it's not that active. Used to be number 1 Jewel website but it's a shadow of itself now. I don't mind that as I think it served it's purpose. However, I just feel that I can't shut it down because we still get a couple of new members a week and people still post, however sporadically. It's like this list, even if it's only used by few, it is still used and there's no need to get rid of it unless it's not used at all. It would give it a great boost if Jewel just posted herself every once in a while. Clearly she hasn't been part of it for a while or she wouldn't have suggested setting another one up. Besides, I joined this list when I was just 15. I feel like I've grown up with some of you and have made lasting friends here, not just online acquaintances. This list holds a great place in my heart! Don't ever end it unless I find I'm talking to myself! In spite of the diminished list activity in recent years, there is a sort of "homey" feel to this unpolished forum, and I still like it. And I like that you too appreciate the old-school, nostalgic flavor of "the list." Personally, I've come to know some really wonderful people through this relatively intimate group. You're probably right about a "new," bigger, badder group needing an updated format, but I suspect it won't draw the same sort of long term, truly hardcore fans that we've had here over the years. Although, even our little group has shrunk considerably. I am almost certain by a "new EDA List" - IF interactive - they mean a forum/message board, not emails.
