LOL ... Also, I've posted a few videos from the Jewel Roxy concert on Mother's Day. She was amazing and so in her element (small club, receptive audience, etc). http://www.youtube.com/user/porkch0p31 Here was the setlist ... 01. Somewhere Over The Rainbow 02. Near You Always 03. Passing Time 04. Last Dance Rodeo (story of song) 05. Everything Breaks (really beautiful version) 06. Carnivore 07. Down So Long 08. Sometimes It Be That Way (with Bob Dylan song) 09. Stephenville, TX 10. Hands (homeless and 9/11 story) 11. Life Uncommon 12. Circle Song 13. Cowboy's Lament 14. Raven 15. Shape Of You (I think before this, she started strumming the beggining of Little Sister) 16. Rosy & Mick 17. Good Day (sing along with audience bc she didn't really remember it) 18. I Do (she said the song did the trick) 19. Standing Still 20. intuition 21. Foolish Games 22. You Were Meant For me 23. Who Will Save Your Soul (drug bust story) - ---Encore-- 24. Angel Standing By 25. Chime Bells She didn't sing any real obscure songs, but the setlist itself is a bit of a change from what she's been doing recently, so it was nice. I requested Louisa but she simply responded "Louisa and Her Blue Guitar? Wow. Really?" I heard someone request Nicotine Love. No dice. I would have even liked to hear Racecar Driver for a change, which she repeated, but didn't do. The crowd as packed! I've been to a lot of standing room only concerts, but I really felted packed in right from the get go. Even before Jewel showed up. I find it funny when people try to sing along to Jewel ... it just sounds horrible, considering Jewel changes up her songs so much. Sigh. Anyway, it was really fantastic and I'm so glad I was able to go to a special fans only show. It was really special. :) Some photos: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Xl-pjrgykeQ/SgikcuCDGrI/AAAAAAAALqc/kuqknjHbOD4/s1600-h/IMG_1960.JPG http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Xl-pjrgykeQ/SgikcczQ7AI/AAAAAAAALqU/-dD65b6OYvE/s1600-h/IMG_1956.JPG http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Xl-pjrgykeQ/SgikcyfdAhI/AAAAAAAALqk/jbaG2Uvb5N8/s1600-h/IMG_2005.JPG - -Elizabeth ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 13 May 2009 14:49:11 -0700 From: Scott Anthony Subject: [EDA] Jewel at Roxy - whole show Did anyone post this? http://www.youtube.com/user/kpaxwide - -- Scott Anthony Evans scott@scottanthony.org http://www.scottanthony.org ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 13 May 2009 21:46:04 +0000 (GMT) From: "Kiera @ JKF" Subject: Re: [EDA] YouTube of Jewel on Regis AND small review of Roxy show Thank you so much! I'm always so appreciative of great people like you who share these with the rest of the world who don't get to see these shows otherwise! Good ol' Regis with his 'Angel standing up'. LMAO. Jewel looked very thin though. Hope she's ok healthwise. www.jewelkilcherforum.com ________________________________ From: E N To: Jewel Sent: Wednesday, 13 May, 2009 22:06:48 Subject: [EDA] YouTube of Jewel on Regis AND small review of Roxy show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3a4Xw7dgdy4 I love how Regis yet again manages to mess up. I personally have donated to Project Clean Water which is Jewel's Charity, and I'm also backing and walking for the national kidney foundation. A few years ago my friend went on dialysis and needed a transplant, today he has new kidneys. My mother also is a Nephrology Nurse and is the Head Nurse for two Nephrology Clinics in the Henry Ford Health System here in Michigan. This Sunday I will be walking at the Detroit Zoo to raise money for the National Kidney Foundation. Any small donation can help, I have included the NKF's website and the search you do to donate on my page. _http://walk.kidney.org/site/TR?fr_id=1530&pg=pfind_ (http://walk.kidney.org/site/TR?fr_id=1530&pg=pfind) Type in Nicole Nie and it will pull me up. I have donated the first $ 5.00 and am hoping to raise $200.00 By Sunday... PLease Help if you can!!! Thanks! - --I recently accepted the challenge of participating in the NKF's Kidney Walk. 26 Million people have chronic kidney disease and another 20 million are at risk. The NKF's Kidney Walk presents an occasion for dialysis patients, organ transplant recipients, donor families, living donors, the medical communities, and the general public to celebrate LIFE and support the Foundation's mission. The NKF's Kidney Walks are designed to help people understand the need for early detection of kidney disease. In addition to raising funds for research and help for patients and their families, the Kidney Walk is a great way to bring the community together! I am asking you to help by supporting my fundraising efforts with a donation. Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of many! It is faster and easier than ever to support this great cause - you can make your donation online by simply clicking on the link at the bottom of this message. Any amount, great or small, helps in the fight. I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress. _http://walk.kidney.org/site/TR?fr_id=1530&pg=pfind_ (http://walk.kidney.org/site/TR?fr_id=1530&pg=pfind) Search Nicole Nie and it will pull me up, Please try to donate what you can!!!
