I enjoyed this a lot! Can anyone tell me who is Mariis Kilcher? And who ever said "Violet Eyes" should have been included is right on. Maybe the tone of the song was not 'child like" but the melody fit this Cd perfectly./. From her folk beginnings, to saccharine pop numbers such as Intuition and then to country on last year's Perfectly Clear, her latest album caters to the littlies as well as their parents. The title is a dead giveaway and fans can expect an album mostly full of simple, subdued acoustic guitar numbers that hone in on Jewel's gentle vocals. While there is nothing remotely grey about her lyrics and while the album concept is unique, the tracks pretty much achieve their goal of putting the listeners to sleep. That said, Jewel does try to vary her numbers by providing her take on old favourites such as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Brahms Lullaby, adding a country music twang on The Cowboy's Lament, and singing in Swedish on Sov Gott (Good Night). However, it's all much of a muchness. While artists mature and explore new genres, Jewel's leaping and crisscrossing is sure to leave some of her fans behind.
