[FabioJJ Subject: Re: [EDA] Is Jewel still on Valory? (Alan?) Yes, she still is on Valory. Her contract there is open, she can release independently other CDs if she wants. Valory will only release her country albums. She was gonna put the Lullaby one out on her own, team up with Walmart or Starbucks, you know. Then the deal with Fisher Price/Sommerset came along and she thought it would be the best for this release. Anyway, she's already recording demos for the next country album and it should come out before the end of the year. Yay! Jewel's never been so fast in releasing new music! --------- Mensagem Original -------- De: "Scott Evans" Para: "Jewel list" Assunto: [EDA] Is Jewel still on Valory? (Alan?) Data: 20/03/09 14:37 I noticed that Somewhere Over the Rainbow on iTunes is property of Somerset Entertainment. Does Jewel have a clause that allows her to record for other labels, or is she through with Valory? -- Scott Anthony Evans scott@scottanthony.org http://www.scottanthony.org ________________________________________________ Wireless Internet Ltda -- www.wnetrj.com.br ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Mar 2009 13:39:23 +0000 (GMT) From: "Kiera @ JKF" Subject: Re: [EDA] Re: DOES ANYONE MISS "OLD" JEWEL? Please don't get me wrong, I love Jewel's latest stuff too. It's just that after listening to the old Jewel Stock CD's and Innerchange days, I miss the days when she got really passionate about something and poured her heart out to it (political or not). There haven't been as many of those songs on the past couple of albums. She's played things quite safe and I see nothing wrong with that, I like it nonetheless. I am merely nostalgic for the old Jewel and I wonder, does she write songs like that anymore that we just don't hear? ________________________________ From: FabioJJ To: jewel@smoe.org Sent: Thursday, 19 March, 2009 21:28:15 Subject: Re: [EDA] Re: DOES ANYONE MISS "OLD" JEWEL? Jewel did say before she released Perfectly Clear that she wasn't feeling inspired by politics at all, and that would be why the album would not have any type of song like that. If she's not feeling it, why would she sing it, you know? Jewel has been consistently writing awesome material. Of course, some things are not as good as others, but I think it's normal. You can't deny Goodbye Alice In Wonderland (the song) is a masterpice! - --------- Mensagem Original -------- De: Kiera @ JKF Para: EDA Assunto: ***ANTISPAM*** Re: [EDA] Re: DOES ANYONE MISS "OLD" JEWEL?
