Jewel is gorgeous and she does a good job musically, but the video is a bit dull. However, the problem is the song itself. Thankfully she had nothing to do with writing it. Now i know Jewel likes pushing boundaries, but to say cheating -- that is, deceit, betrayal, contempt for someone you are supposed to love (but obviously don't) -- makes you feel good doesn't make me feel good. But maybe I'm showing my age, being a very elderly EDA. And then the song is cheating as well: no actual cheating takes place -- it's all pretend, it just "feels like" cheating. So I guess that if there were actual cheating going on it would feel even better. There are other bits of it as well that are, frankly, juvenile -- my age showing again? -- getting a thrill out of doing what's wrong. Not my cuppa cocoa. There are much better songs on the album, like "Thump Thump" and "Perfectly Clear" (which has just finished playing). Great songs, and pure Jewel. Take care, Barry Howarth ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V12 #416 ****************************
