Next month she visits the U.S. Northeast for a series of benefit concerts. "Ever wonder what it would have been like to listen to a gifted singer/songwriter from Saskatchewan in a small, intimate hall before she became Joni Mitchell? Don't fret the missed opportunity. There's no need to turn back the clock. Check out Allison Crowe," says 'The Record'. July 10, Thursday, at 7 p.m. - Allison is in concert at Lily Pad, 1353 Cambridge Street, Inman Square, Cambridge, MA. This is a benefit for the EveryDay Angels Foundation http://www.edaf.org July 12, Saturday, at 8 p.m. - Allison performs at Trinity-on-Main, 69 Main Street, New Britain, CT. This concert is a benefit for T-o-M Arts and Education Centre http://www.trinityonmain.org July 19, Saturday, at 8 p.m. - Allison is in concert at Laurie Beechman Theatre, 407 West 42nd Street, New York City. This, too, is a benefit for the EveryDay Angels Foundation http://www.edaf.org Allison's earned her reputation for exciting live shows that stir together original songs with much-loved interpretations from the popular songbook in an organic blend of rock, jazz, folk, Broadway, gospel and soul. It's a joyous sound. "Treat yourself to one of the mightiest talents on the singer-songwriter scene today," says Bob Muller, JoniMitchell.com Ross Hocker, longtime public broadcaster with WGTE/NPR Radio calls Allison's performance: "The most honest, heartfelt, and directly intimate concert in my entire life." Successfully following the route of Ani DiFranco, Allison Crowe's record label supports her recording and touring, and she regularly supports non-profits. Allison is delighted to be partnering with the EveryDay Angels Foundation and Trinity-on-Main. More details will be posted soon on Allison's website, and on the sites of these fine, and fun, organizations. We featured Allison as a guest artist on Jewel's site nearly 10 years ago. Her voice and music were compelling even then and she's come a long way since. Not only is she worthy of your attention, but these concerts are perfect opportunities for Northeastern EDAs to meet up with each other, enjoy a fine night of live music in a comfortable setting, while supporting an extremely talented independant artist and a few worthy causes in the process. My schedule is pretty tight these days, but I'll definitely be at Allison's Trinity-on-Main concert in New Britain, CT on Saturday July 12. That venue is a beautiful old stone church that became a performance space a few years ago. Good acoustics and comfortable seating with plenty of free parking. Friends of ours may be throwing a little post show get-together afterwards, as they live about a mile from the venue. Depending on how many EDAs turn up, we may even have a screening of some of the Jewelstock, NashBash and Living Room Tour footage for a little EDA nostalgia. It's been awhile since any EDA-related events took place, but there's no time like the present. Keep an eye out for Adrian's reminders and updates and hope to see some of you there! I'll have to wait 'til I receive my Digest to know if I'm repeating things, so, here's hoping I'm not going to confuse anyone by speaking before I know what's been said all 'round... my understanding is that Dennis, of the Harris Bros., plywood cow-roping and plenty more EDA famous escapades, will be in Cambridge as MC and EDAF rep. Amy, the EDAF's urban cowgirl from Joisey will MC in NYC. Mr BB will be cutting the rug in New Britain, and, we've only just begun... Now, if I was a Carpenter... (I'd wait to hear what everyone else says, first!) - cheers, Adrian the Digest Angel Angel asked: Is anyone going to the July 10th show in Cambridge? I am thinking about it. Thanks!!
