[Dennis Harris Subject: [EDA] Massachusetts witch hunts revisited... Yeah Rob, a few of us from the Beantown area (Cornflake Girl, myself, dashing Harris sidekick Moynihan and other parties) pointed out that there was NO K-Mart store in Braintree or surrounding towns, just a corporate training center whose restroom Jewel would not likely find herself using. In reality, Jewel just liked the witch-trial sound of sound of BRAIN-Tree (as in let's "brain-tree" them!), so she took artistic license. After Jewel's pre-JewelStock list monitor (what was the young girl's name, Mikey? help me here!) told Jewel of her error, Jewel feigned great disappointment. But the one thing we've all learned over the past 12+ years is that Jewel is a very selective -- and therefore inaccurate -- historian! How many versions of the Mexico drug bust story have we all heard? I personally believe Jewel's "I didn't inhale" story about as much as I believed President Clinton's version! The hotel maid got stoned, Steve admits he got stoned, the Federales got stoned, everybody must get stoned... except Swiss Miss. But as I said before -- ARTISTIC LICENSE! The Braintree story and "Fading Away" song were quite fun. And it's always fun to see old geezers like Rob post again. Despite his advancing years, it seems Rob has his good days now and then (just like Alan, Larry and Mikey). I'm getting an itch to have an old fashioned EDA Gathering soon. Anyone up for hosting a house full of friendly strangers who will quickly become strange friends? How about you, Connell?!? How about an LRC? A game of Harrisball? Guitar Hero tournament? Food bank volunteers? Cinco de Mayo pinata party? Jewel music swap and MP3 burning weekend with waffles in the morning? I'll bring the Twister mat! ;-) - -- Dennis "Trust me. I'm a Harris Brother." Yeah well, we know that both jewel and jewel-list things are selectively remembered or recorded. For example backroom House of Blues, New Orleans 1999. A Jewel related thing happened there, but only a handful of people on the list really know the story. We as EDAs have helped shape the image just as much as Jewel. But yes, sometimes, it is just a lollypop.
