I joined 98/99. I've had several email addresses associated during that time. It was crazy back in that time I joined though. You would get posts constantly flooding into the inbox. It has slowed down more and more as time has moved on since then. Still an amazing list though. Actually I much prefer it how it is today really. It's smallish (on the post side), and very enjoyable. First saw Jewel in concert when she was opening for Neil Young, who is also a favorite of mine. I also saw her at Geneseo University just a few days before Grammy's, when she was nominated for Best new Artist, which she should have won! Have only seen 2 or 3 concerts since then, though. Got to meet Steve Poltz at Java Joes, while on vacation in San Diego, 5 or 6 years ago and got to speak with him after, would have been nice if Jewel had shown up. Anyway a couple years ago the list was doing a little survey to see who the oldest member was (age wise) and at that time anyway I won, lol, I'm a very young just turned 60 years old. I don't very often post but I enjoy reading everyone's updates, have enjoyed the youtube clips that have been on lately. Hope everyone is doing well........... ---- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Monday, November 12, 2007 6:52 PM Subject: [EDA] NJC the first persons > Now, this quesiton hs soemwhat plauged me for a while now. I joined back in 1997 when I was just 14 years old. I'm 25 now. I've had a few different email addresses since then, but I joined with an old earthlink one (plante@earthlink.net). I used to also go by CJ. I remember way back when there was an EDA Thanksgiving Dinner gathering in San Diego and the Pajama Jam at Java Joes where a bunch of us had a sleepover in the coffee shop. Seems like back then my family was making many trips down from L.A. to San Diego for EDA gatherings and shows at Java Joes. I don't think there are too many of the very first original list members (from 1994) still on the list. Dan Stark is not on the list anymore. There was Neal Copperman & Niele(sp?) Graham and a bunch of other Ectophiles; Jeff Wasiliko (the original list owner). All gone from this list but still active, I believe, on the Ecto list. The archives should definitely show.
