She did Don't Wanna Be Loved By Anybody But You. I didn't see it, since I'm from another country, but people on the Nasville Star boards are having pretty mixed opinions on it. Some say it was a really weird song, and others say it was increbibly moving and honest. I like how some say she made the others look really amateur, hehe... Some quotes: i really didn't care for the song. it hurt my ears. the only part i did like was the yodeling, thought that was rather pretty. It was a really odd song. Her song is a real cowboy song. Listen to some old cowboy songs like Jimmi Rodgers,Slim Clark,Riders in the sky. From her sory that's how she learned to write and sing from her dad while driving cattle. Her voice was awesome, as usual, but the song just didn't seem to flow. It was as if there was no discernable melody. The song did feel different... I thought I didn't like it, but at the same time I did like it lol I felt she pulled it off... I had never heard Jewel sing before so I wasn't expecting any particular sound from her and that may be the difference. I thought her rendition was one of the most powerful and mesmerizing I've ever seen on television. I had goosebumps and was simply blown away. I could tell when she was singing it that it wasn't what a lot of people would expect though. Made the Wreckers look like amateur hour. It made an awfully lot of performances seem like amateur hour, IMNSHO. I thought her song was emotional & touching. I can see how it might be the kind of song that your not sure of till you hear it a few times BUT I thought she made it magical. It was amazing to me how she could take us all back to that Alaskan ranch where her & her daddy sang for each other & the cattle. I felt it & it sure gave me goosebumps to. ________________________________________________ Wireless Internet Ltda -- www.wnetrj.com.br ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V12 #23 ***************************
