Found those old lyrics while glancing at someone's wiki site that they are working on and the above lyrics from "Everybody Needs Someone Sometime" cracked me up, even if the song is not necessarily a funny one. Didn't Spivy Leaks pop up in some of her other lyrics, like he's an ongoing character .And where did she get the name Spivy? I find it hysterical. ________________________________________________________________________ Check out the new AOL. Spivy Leeks was a drip of a man I met him washing dishes in a local cafe And he told me if people were fishes He'd steal all their scales and he'd swim far away Spivy Leeks was an introvert Like a broken radio he'd make your day real long His end result was doing time time for looking up a women's skirt Just trying to figure out what was right from what was wrong He was looking for Jesus in all the wrong places There in my hole, save his soul Spivy Leeks, It's time to go home Spivy Leeks was an odd looking man He looks just like a potato shoved into jeans And he thought that he possessed a secret power And no matter what he did, he would be redeemed Spivy Leeks lived at the local 7-11 He looked at dirty magazines most everyday He studied those pictures like he studied the Bible He thought that they were angels and that he'd been saved He was looking for Jesus in all the wrong places There in my hole, save his soul Spivy Leeks, It's time to go home Spivy Leeks robbed a liquor store Instead of a gun, he used a candy bar He told the cashiers that he was their saviour But his holyness and his Baby Ruth didn't get him very far Spivy Leeks died a glorious death Down on main street It was quite a public site And as Mr. Sheriff man was about to blow him to pieces He said "Halejuhah, I'm coming home tonight." ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Dec 2006 08:54:36 -0500 From: "Connell, Michael P \(US SSA\)" Subject: RE: [EDA] Spivy Leaks > Found those old lyrics while glancing at someone's wiki site that they are > working on and the above lyrics from "Everybody Needs Someone Sometime" > cracked me up, even if the song is not necessarily a funny one. Didn't > Spivy Leaks pop up in some of her other lyrics, like he's an ongoing > character . Well, there's the song she has named "Spivy Leeks" Spivy Leeks by Jewel Kilcher Spivy Leeks was a drip of a man I met him washing dishes in a local cafe And he told me if...were fishes He'd steal all their scales and he ... away Spivy Leeks was an introvert Like a broken radio He'd make your day real long An end result, ... time he looked up women's skirt Just trying to figure out what was right from what was wrong He was looking for Jesus in all the wrong places There in my hole, save his soul Spivy Leeks, It's time to go home Spivy Leeks was an odd looking man He looks just like a pool table Shoved into jeans And he thought that he possessed a secret power And no matter what he did, he would be redeemed Spivy Leeks lived at the local 7-11 He looked at dirty magazines most everyday He studied those pictures like he studied the Bible He thought that they were angels and that he'd been saved He was looking for Jesus in all the wrong places There in my hole, save his soul Spivy Leeks, It's time to go home Spivy Leeks robbed a liquor store Instead of a gun, he used a candy bar He told the cashiers that he was their saviour But his holyness, His holyness and his Baby Ruth didn't get him very far Spivy Leeks died a glorious death Down on main street It was quite a public site And as Mr. Sheriff man was about to Blow him to pieces He said "Halejuhah, I'm coming home tonight." ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Dec 2006 08:53:54 -0800 (PST) From: Subject: Re: [EDA] Spivy Leaks (a download) here's a link to download the song for those of you who haven't heard it: http://everythingbreaks.com/sounds/spivy_leeks_8.mp3 StuartnDee@aol.com wrote: In a message dated 12/27/06 8:05:58 AM, freckledangel@aol.com writes: > Didn't Spivy Leaks pop up in some of her other lyrics, like he's an ongoing > character .And where did she get the name Spivy? I had actually only seen the lyrics printed in the past, but had never heard the audio. I love her old country sounding stuff...THanks! :-) This is so cute, it's so off the cuff and down home...gotta love that old stuff. (Even if subject matter may be a bit disturbing). Yay angelfood. (Especially when I'm working overtime at the office and it's really quiet right now). - -----Original Message----- From: mel@everythingbreaks.com To: StuartnDee@aol.com; FreckledAngel@aol.com; jewel@smoe.org Sent: Wed, 27 Dec 2006 11:53 AM Subject: Re: [EDA] Spivy Leaks (a download) here's a link to download the song for those of you who haven't heard it: http://everythingbreaks.com/sounds/spivy_leeks_8.mp3 ________________________________________________________________________ Check out the new AOL. Check this out version of Foolish Games http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qg3Kt6rs-cQ and pay close attention to the guy on the right when he comes into the picture. Both guys did a great job with their "part". It's hilarious. Mike ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V11 #307 ****************************
