I am usually the one asking for better systems and fancy software but when it comes to this list, I have never found an issue in communicating this way. Maybe it's a nostalgic thing but I don't see a problem or need to move. Not yet anyway. However, I'd be right on board if you you did decide to move to something else. An EDA is an EDA! I more than appreciate the time it takes to keep up to date and keep communications going as I have a forum of my own. But I do agree with the old addage 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it' concept. She will be appearing on Bill Maher's Amazon Fishbowl show, which you can find on amazon.com. Its an online show that Amazon.com posts every week. Its first aired at 8pm Pacific time (I think) on Thursdays and even if you miss it then, it remains posted for you to watch anytime you want. She is supposed to be performing a couple songs at least, I think! I think it would basically be the same thing if it were hosted at yahoogroups. However, yahoogroups is all pretty now AND I noticed that in the digests, you can now skip around the email by clicking on hyperlinks at the beginning of the email where you see the subjects of the emails. Also, you can search for emails (but with google nowadays that's not necessarily needed). There are also functions like a calendar, post files, etc. But yeah ... it's jewel@smoe.org! Yahoo groups does have some really neat features, including moderation which we would definitely need. But it's still up to Mike & he doesn't want to move, at least not right now. Like I said it was just an idea I had, I thought it'd be a nice change of pace. - --------------------------------- http://darkangelfans.proboards43.com http://www.geocities.com/sasafrass452/darkangel.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sassyscorner IM me! Jewel@Smoe is like an exotic tropical island with indigenous hermits living deep in the jungle, that every so often, meet at the shore and travel by boat to far off lands to worship a blonde yodel goddess. I do think that moving to Yahoo could provide a higher flow of traffic through the group, but I don't think that's necessarily what we want. And if that is what we want... we could take signs to concerts saying "CHECK OUT JEWEL@SMOE.ORG!" ;-D In addition to MAC's "If It Aint' Broke.." I also vote "Keep It Simple, Stupid" - all of the web forums are really neat with their HTML and CSS and the scrolling pictures etc etc but I really love the fact that this is one e-mail a day (approx......) that I get that is text-only. One final note... Yahoo has been making some changes that improve the yahoo groups experience BUT it's still vulnerable to "fake" members posting spam.. AND less than a month ago we got several emails delivered to our inboxes with a virus attached Thanks for the Space. Angel with a baby due in 4 weeks! I'm sure there are other problems (without even mentioning China), but these are the most recent ones we've had these last few months alone. just my 2"... - -Pink ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 3 Aug 2006 18:34:52 -0700 (PDT) From: Shawn F Subject: Re: [EDA] NJC: Miranda Lambert You are so luckyI love Miranda LAMBERT You gotta telll us alll about it or at least me Matt Sullivan wrote: Yay I'm go to see Miranda Lamber tonight!
