I joined the myspace group.. (we are "James and Cassie's unborn fetus") Congrats on the singin' in Chicago - I have to admit I really expected whoever got that mic to botch the words :) You really didn't sound all that bad either.. I will post some pics and a few comments about my experience at the Chicago show. I have a little bit of video taken on a digital camera so it's pretty horrible but I'll try to share it. I tried to record the show as usual but apparantly I had some mic issues.. my readings were fine but the only part of the show I really have is the last song (WWSYS). It will be worth a listen for those of you who weren't at the show - it's comedy listening to the new bass player trying to match Jewel.. Hopefully look for a post later tonight. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Jun 2006 20:22:52 EDT From: LENONO68@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Re: HOT duet with Rob I just tried to watch this video and it's been removed. Be warned, i know songs by track number, not title. I think y'all will get it though. To the best of my memory: Foolish Games (Which she rocked!!) Long Slow Slide Again and Again and Again Hands Insomniac story where she told everybody sometimes she wakes up at night and wants Ty to "Worry" with her but he won't. It was hilarious. Good Day She told a story about being in Hollywood and going to parties where the celebs trade their significant others for a better model. She mentioned Farrah Faucet (SP?)only getting to trade down now!!! Everybody Needs Somebody Love Me Just Leave Me Alone She then asked for requests, to which I shouted Jupiter. Instead, she played Goodbye Alice in Wonderland (acoustic) Angel (kinda a lullaby, she said wasn't on any record) (acoustic) Chime Bell (solo) :( (acoustic) You Were Meant For Me Standing Still Intuition Mexico Story/Kermit the Frog Who Will Save Your Soul Then, during Rob's performance, they sang the "DUET" Jewel came on the stage talking on her cell phone, she said she was talking to Ty. Rob said hi and made us all scream hi at him. Then, she put the phone in her bra, sang the song with Rob, removed the phone and started talking again :) My opinion might be biased, but I thought the Jewel part of the concert was way better than the Rob part... Toby was really good. She played for 15 minutes, starting at 5 minuted to seven. Then Jewel played for about an hour and a half. Then Rob played for 2 hours. I was so tired by the time it was over. I am not a huge Rob Thomas fan, but his band rocked. Towards the end though, he let each of his instrumentalists play like a 5 minute solo. It got old. It was interesting to see a different side of Jewel. I was a little disappointed that her show had lost so much intimacy, but when you almost sell out a huge arena, what do you expect. The best part of the concert for me was making my husband take me. I have loved Jewel for forever, and he has hated her forever. When she started rocking out, he loved it. He had told everyone before the show that I was dragging him to the show and that he would sleep the whole time, and then he had to admit to all of his friends that he had a good time.
