Today's Subjects: ----------------- [EDA] Portsmouth Concert setlist and mini-review ["Robby Van Sciver" ] Re: [EDA] atlanta/anderson concert ["E N" ] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 1 Jun 2006 03:59:43 -0400 From: "Robby Van Sciver" Subject: [EDA] Portsmouth Concert setlist and mini-review Just got back from the portsmouth concert. It was really good. Her set was sorta short again, but she did take requests (though not mine... hehe) Oh, and I thought it was cute, but the candles on her set are actually fake. The bulbs are floating/suspended so that when the wind blows, they move, just like a real flame would. Not sure I'm describing it well, but it was cool. Foolish Games Deep Water Hands Good Day Satellite Down So Long Everybody Needs Someone Sometime Love Me, Just Leave Me Alone Break Me Morning Song <----begin acoustic set (she took requests...she was calling on people, so I stood up and raised my hand like in grade school...I asked for Violet Eyes and she said the crowd was too rowdy, so then I asked for Money and she looked confused and then she said I was just showing off and made a comment how she's a fan of bootlegging. You Were Meant for Me Standing Still<----band returns Intuition Who Will Save Your Soul I got lots of great pictures. I tried recording the concert, which didn't prove too successful. I chose to use ipodlinux and a microphone. The microphone picked up WAY too much bass (so it clips any time the main drum is hit) and I also recorded in 8khz (not good quality) accidentally. Not good for much...let me know if anyone else got a good recording, though. Everyone around me was there to see Rob Thomas. He has a huge fan following, a few of the people were roadies. Some ladies offered me tickets to one of his upcoming shows in exchange to send them some pictures of the concert, but I told them to give the tix to someone who would appreciate them more and I'd send them the pics anyway. Lastly, for those concerned about taking camera, etc... don't be (or at least risk it--the worst that'll happen is they'll tell you to turn around and put it back in your car). When going in, I was worried (i even had my camera bag, not concealed). They were checking all bags and one security lady was busy the other wasn't paying attention so I slipped by, but he grabbed me and asked to look in my bag. Game over I thought. I told him it was a camera bag and he was like "I don't care, I just have to see inside it" so I showed him the camera and battery charger and he said ok, go in. Sweet. Robby http://www.jewelwiki.com P.S. and how could I forget...she came out and did a song with Rob Thomas! It's "Stop Dragging My Heart" (I think that's the title) originally by Stevie Nicks. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 1 Jun 2006 05:30:38 -0700 (PDT) From: gina brumley Subject: [EDA] NJC: Bearsville, anyone? Uhm, hello? It's like June now and nothing has been said LoL Not sure if we'd be able to actually make it, but we were just curious if it was even going on! Gina and Chey Tired of spam? Yahoo! Geesh. I just went to the Madonna concert and the cheapest shirt they had was $40 - they had one for $85! I expected it from Madonna, but Jewel?! Maan ... I guess I won't be getting any concert shirts this season.
