A more thorough review will come tomorrow. Let me start out by saying thank you to all the EDAs who sent birthday wishes. They were all compiled into a 30 page birthday card with a beautiful Jewel-esque watercolor cover created by our talented EDA friend Lara. We had the finished product spiral bound at Kinkos with a clear cover and vinyl back. Long story short (for tonight), Jewel has got the card...for sure. I'll relay all the details about the show tomorrow, but for tonight, let's just say we had a very good time and were not disappointed at all. The music was great, and she looked beautiful. They still have a few technical things to work out but, that will get ironed out over the next few shows. According to one of her head production people, she's only had 4 days of rehearsal with this band. She did 30 cities of press in 15 days. More about all that tomorrow. Here's the setlist: The first three songs were without her band. 1) 1000 Miles Away 2) Stephenville 3) Life Uncommon (with a story about the recent death of the son of a friend of theirs) Then came the band. 4) Foolish Games 5) YWMFM 6) Again & Again (A&A?) 7) Hands 8) Good Day 9) Satellite 10) Down So Long 11) Love Me Just Leave Me Alone 12) Break Me 13) Intuition Then one of her guitarists announced it was her birthday and the audience sang Happy Birthday. They brought out a cake but she really didn't do anything with it. It was sort of off to the side and they seemed to have a hard time keeping the candles lit. By the time they got it out she had already started into her last song. 14) Who Will Save Your Soul Then they changed out the equipment and got ready for Rob Thomas. That's the Reader's Digest version of the concert. A full review and all about her card tomorrow. MAC ________________________________________________________________________ Check out AOL.com today. I'm seriously deciding if I'm going to spend money that I don't really have to see this show in Chicago. DOWN SO LONG but not STANDING STILL? BREAK ME but not STANDING STILL? One of her biggest songs. Yeah. I'm not spending all that money to hear Good Day. Obviously its going to be the next single if she's not singing any other worthy candidates. 4 days with her band for rehersal is no excuse. There's no reason she couldn't have had them learning more songs so that the set list could vary for each so. Now I'm sure the setlist will be different tomorrow so I've done all this bitching for nothing.
