What 4 songs of >Jewel's should I have at my > reception?!?! Hi, i instantly thought of two songs: 1. Circle Song (With You I Will Always Be) 2. Cold Song now, since these are two short tunes you may squeeze another one in :-) (Last Dance Rodeo maybe?) Cheers! I am actually getting married this Friday (just 3 days left) and I can't even decide on the 1 we are allowed. I might not even have one at all now as I just can't decide. I like Near You Always and now I really like Where You Are but Jewel has so many wonderful love songs, it is really hard to choose. This Way and Til We Run Out of Road were high on my first list but like I said, Just couldn't decide. Best of luck. Kiera Josie Rathbone wrote: OK angels, come to my rescue... So far, dozens of some of the nicest messages and wishes anyone could hope to receive for their birthday. Emails from all over the world, and from many EDAs I never even knew existed. I wasn't really prepared for just how impressive we can be as a collective group. Barely an hour goes by that I don't receive another birthday email for Jewel. I'm sure Mike knows what I'm talking about, as he used to moderate the list by screening many, many emails a day. At one point, I think he used to get out about 3 digests every day. I'm sure Jewel will be quite pleased with our group card. I also think this is a great opportunity to encourage her to add more tour dates, especially internationally. At the very least, participate. This is her birthday card. If you wish her a Happy Birthday, just sign her card. I'll be collecting birthday messages through next weekend. Below is another copy of the original "survey." Thanks again everyone. At one point, I think he used to get out about 3 digests every day. Well, ya might wanna sit down. In the peak days (mid-to-late 1997) , the list was getting five to six or even seven digests a day, and the digests back then were over twice as big as they are now. Digests are published at 1:05am ET each day, except when the cummulative volume since the last published digest exceeds 18k at which point a new digest is published. During the peak days mentioned above the digests were 40K in size. So six or seven digests back then would translate to over twice that today. We had a spell where we were averaging over 400 posts a day. Yikes! As for the peak when the list wa smoderated, I can't be sure how many digests we got a day, but I do know they were the smaller (18K) digests then. These would make for quite an interesting wedding!! I think I'd return the coffeemaker I got for them and get them a gift certificate to a marriage counselor if I were a guest. Coincidentally, Nicotine Love is my boyfriend and my favorite Jewel song, I'm sure it will make it onto the road trip honeymoon playlist, probably not the reception list though :) Question...when do you plan on playing these Jewel songs? I don't really see any of her songs as weddingy or danceable. Maybe as light music during the meal, or going home music...just wondering...congrats btw!!
